i just think that if Laron Landry got a pass from the refs while at LSU, then no one ever really has to worry about getting a flag for it..

I'm sorry. I forgot that I was watching a church service tonight and not a football game. My mistake.

wheres the downside been thru 4 weeks?

where? all he does is defend his team. i want a guy like this on my squad. give me a guy with confidence who believes in himself and will defend his team vocally and physically. and again it's not like you people even know what he is saying or what is being said to him. i really don't even think it's that personal against them. get over it. it's really not a big deal. no one is making a big deal about it except negative fans. it's always gotta be something else to complain of. enjoy the season.

I seriously have no problem with it. Great players do this sometimes. Kind of reminds me of Kevin Garnett in the way that the trash talk is more of him trying to hype his own self up more than anything else. If he played on offense I would have a problem with it because sometimes you wanna stay low-key and not cause so much attention to get your arse hit harder. On defense, however, you got guys that are attacking you anyways so you gotta have balls every once in a while. TM7 is good for LSU.

The trash talk may motivate some players instead of demoralizing them. It's best to just let your play do your talking, as others have said. Plus, what's wrong with having a spectaclular player who is also classy?

WVU receivers were doing a lot of trash talking themselves. Both sides kept that going all night.

There was definitely a lot of trash talking all over the place from two squads (LSU D and WVU O) that probably didn't deserve to talk shite. I don't mind attitude, but when the other guys are running up and down the field and/or turning the ball over, it's a bit misplaced.

No issue with it until he was yapping at the WR late in the 4th quarter. No other time during the game was he close to getting a penalty.

I didn't mind it then. The LSU defense came up with a stop.

absolutely nothing.. and that's quite classy.. but not everyone is a robot or that nature.

this is his nature and it's not personal. let him be himself and not fake.

Fwiw, Laron Landry is probably one of the most physically intimidating people on this planet.

I think it's great. It's just jawjacking. Talking.

We are playing football, not tip toeing around in some ballet.

If it remains just talk, so be it. If the opposing offense does something dumb and they get called for a penalty as a result of "talking"

good. PP7 was one of the biggest Tigers that talked smack.

Don't get me wrong I love the way Mathieu plays and the intensity he has just was worried as hell when he stood over the WVU player after the fourth down and I thought a flag was gonna fly.

He's generally a soft spoken guy. IMO he was just dishing back what was being fed to him by the opposition

Really? He has been the biggest trash talker on the team since the 1st game he played as a freshman.

He has never been soft-spoken on the field.

yeah 477 yards and they only scored 21 points.. which included a touchdown off momentum from a Reuben dropped touchdown and they were on the field a lot, not to mention that Geno threw 60 something times with no pressure. TM7 can and is gonna do what he wants, don't talk the talk unless you can walk the walk and he runs.

It's part of what makes him a great player, he plays with attitude.

i really don't see how trash talking should be called for a penalty.. especially considering west virginia high stepped into the endzone on a td with no penalty.. hell it could very well have been that same player.. thats like a batter showing up a pitcher on a home run.

trash talking can cause great tension in the game and can be called for taunting if taken to far which must be pretty far.
