Ok so we've narrowed it down to two choices. Are you saying a freshman doesn't need coaching or that the freshman is receiving different/better coaching than the vets?

this freshman came in pre-coached

gonzales just spends his time counting his money since the vets are still wildly inconsistant and he doesn't recruit

I've heard it opined that BG is good for recruiting FL talent.

It's pretty clear at this point that the "Miles thing" is much more about recruiting and motivation than it is about technique or "coaching up" players. The man and his assistants are great recruiters.

I don't agree with you max but at least you're precise in your opinion as opposed to the typical "blah blah drops blah has to be bad coaching", and the counting money part is a nice touch...I mean not everyone can be like scike

I'll blame it on coaching to the point some people need less playing time and fewer passes their way.

A National Championship team, can not afford those drops. maybe KY and WVU can, but it is in part because of that, neither will play for the NC.

i hate the negative vibe here. how many fantastic catches have the WRs made?

Actually, there's a third choice. Maybe the "receivers" not making the catches are not that good. The receivers making most of the drops Sat (RR and RS) were both QB's in high school, not receivers. Maybe some of the guys we're recruiting to be our receivers come to LSU w/ deficiencies and never get up to speed w/ other receivers who were better catching the ball in high school.

Outside of two easy dropped passes RR has been money this year for the most part. he continues to get better and impress me.

Randle, less than halfway into this season, is a game away from passing his total stats from ALL of last season.

Gonzales has been underwhelming at best. I still don't know what he's supposed to be doing.

I share your frustration. I'm sure there is coaching going on, but the I have seem some QB's with some high praise, largely due to their receivers "getting" the ball caught. far too many stone hands this year and last year. I don't think it's on the QB, they dropped JJ's passes last year too. This has to improve... too many missed 3rd downs and TD's because of it. I do like the tennis ball drill I heard about regarding a coach I refuse to mention. I recommend eggs as well. Wing them babies at 'em... catch 'em or wear 'em boys!

I kid, but it kind of ain't funny

I long for the days of crushing blocks delivered downfield. It is pointless to run WR screens behind another WR because the one blocking gets pushed on his backside and the same defender makes the tackle. Will never forget LaFell lighting up that poor dude from Moo State.

He needs to send a thank you card to Lee. Jefferson was the primary reason every single one of our WRs had horrendous stats last season.

not really.

if you go by his averages for this yr, he still needs about 3 games to match his catches and yds. he's matched the TDs already though.

RR was only a QB his senior season. Very misleading.

Besides, OBJ, Ronnie V and the Mannings every other Newman player has to know the fundamentals. They'd just get killed if they didn't.

In regards to the use of the term "dropped pass" doesn't that put blame just on the WR and not the QB? So it is considered a catchable ball and on the WR to complete the play.

So if these are indeed "dropped passes" Lee can not be considered an excuse.

The WRs were very disappointing overall in the Oregon and Kentucky game.

Didn't Billy G coach at Florida before coming here?

Name a great receiver other than Harvin to come from Florida while Billy G was there?

There aren't any!

He can recruit but UF's O was Tebow and Harvin.

We could always get Trooper Taylor so he can give LSU the death penalty.

Les is gonna re-hire Porter as RB coach and move Frank out to coach WRs.
