I believe they changed it to a fixed date every year so to be eligible it’s either 3 years play or 21 on or before August 1st.
Yea now that you say that i think you are right.
So there is some wiggle room, just not 45 days

There’s nothing on MLB’s website of the sort.

Jared Jones is draft eligible next year. Birthdate: 8/1/03

It’s not uncommon. If a kid was held back at a young age, he’ll be 21. Nowadays, you’re starting to see some really elite players who were held back when they were younger reclassify in high school.
FWIW, many private schools actually recommend boys born in the summer start school late.

It used to be 45 days. It changed to August 1st for this year and beyond.
It was never the direct birthday

They don't have that rule anymore. It's by the date of the draft

That's a tweet from a televised dumbass that says "sources".
Find hard proof. There is none to be found.

Guidry as well. That was a big reason why they came to campus, didn't have to wait three years. If Jones, Kling and Guidry have solid next year, I would expect them to be gone.

So you are saying Jared Jones won't be in the draft next year? My guy, he will be.

Kling, Jones, Guidry, Herring for sure

Then I’m wrong. I searched everywhere but Twitter. I’m not reading the whole CBA

You keep quoting a website that hasn't had accurate draft eligibility information on it since the website was built.
The rules on the website are shorthand and made simpler for casual fans to understand.
The people in this thread are giving you more accurate information than the MLB website because they are more than casual fans.
If you don't want to believe it, that's fine. But stop fricking arguing about it. It's tiresome and you're wrong.

I admitted I was wrong. Need to be a little quicker getting your panties in a bunch

If anyone would report on this it would be him lol

why is this hard for people to google...Players who have graduated high school but not attended college are eligible for the draft, as are those who have completed at least one year of junior college. Players attending four-year colleges are eligible to be drafted upon completing their junior year or turning 21 years old.
