Guice, Key, and Jackson are expected to leave. The coaches already have a plan in place and are assuming them to be gone next year.

Tolliver and Weathersby are likely to leave. The coaches probably already have a plan in place for them to be gone as well.

Clapp and Brumfield are expected to return. We wouldn't be screwed if they left, but it again puts us in a position where we need young players to step up immediately.

Basically, the coaches know who is likely to go at least one year in advance and prepare for it all the way through that year's recruiting cycle. LSU won't be screwed by these guys leaving, it's the guys who leave in the summer/fall due to grades or discipline issues that really hurt.

Brumfield isn't going anywhere. Clapp may return too, although that's as iffy as ever right now.

Defense will be good as always. Running back is the only concern, and I think we will be fine.

All we can hope is that we switch to a pass first offense next year, and one of the younger backs or Brossette step up. O-line will be fine.

Then when we go 8-4 next year we’ll get to hear about how young we are and how many freshmen we’re playing and how we have to wait for the magical year when every starter is a returning player before we can expect any better than 8-4/9-3.

It must suck being a miserable, negative individual. This negativity in you goes way beyond Lsu football. Hell you are programmed so negative you can't even enjoy the good times for stressing over potentially bad. God speed man.

My bad, thought you were 1988

How about we beat ND, finish 10 - 3 before your starting predicting doom & gloom for next season?

The Last time a group of juniors came back, tre white/beckwith , to win a championship for LSU they got
lestized .This term signifies when you have an over abundance of talent and do nothing with it.

I think Weathersby and Brumfield stick around for another year. Key and Guice will more than likely be drafted in the first round. I see Clapp getting a 2nd round draft grade and I think that's enough for him to enter the draft. I think Jackson and Toliver may be swayed to return by Tre White and Jalen Mills. A solid senior year for both could be the difference in being drafted in the 3rd round this year to being 1st rounders next year.

8-4 may be giving the current HC more credit than is deserving. Losing 2-3 key coaches/GM and all those players would be quite the obstacle for Coach O to go 8-4 against this upcoming schedule. Breaking in a new QB against these defenses will also be challenging.
Lets hope he can adapt and figure out a way to win at least 9 each year regardless of circumstance.

Clapp is gone; he’s graduating... there’s not much more for him to accomplish here individually. He’s gotta go secure the bag in the league now.

ETA: Trey Quinn who is a good friend of Clapp is also gone. Getting 2-3 round projections. And NFL teams don’t know he runs legit 4.3 with a 38” vert to pair with it yet. Just another one to watch in the draft since it’s quasi-LSU related. I’d love to know where Diarse is projected.

...except another year of getting bigger and stronger and more polished thereby increasing draft status. Other than that, I agree with you.

I would put money on Trey Quinn not running under a 4.5 40 at the combine.
