Well, from what I gather is that now that Ensminger is the OC that the tight ends will answer to Coach Cregg for the blocking drills and to coach Mickey Joseph for the passing drills.

His title is wr coach but it's pretty clear Sullivan is coaching the WRs

Sullivan is the passing game coordinator and Mickey Joseph is more or less his understudy. If he is smart he will keep his eyes and ears wide open and try to gobble up and absorb everything he can.

His job is to recruit New Orleans. That's it
That's it. That's ALL he can do.

Has no idea how to coach WR's at this level. Never should've been hired in the first place.

What's he supposed to teach the TE's? Absolutely nuthin. Say it again. (Let Sullivan have them is passing drills and Cregg in blocking drills)

MJ, just go recruit NOLA and stay off the practice field.

Joseph kept us in the race with Chase after it looked like he was a lock to go out of state

He liked Joseph fine, probably equal to a lot of the other WR coaches he was talking to but it wasn't a deciding factor. He was a lock to go out of state until his Michigan visit and he realized how freakin far away it was and how different it was than home. His Dad always wanted him at LSU. So there's your main factors why he's at LSU and not anywhere else.

Ensminger was more of an influence in Marshall's decision than Joseph. That came straight from Marshall's Uncle.

frick a bunch of high school coaches in New Orleans.

I would agree. But considering all of the factors at play here, you can’t afford to lose an entire fertile recruiting ground when Bama already has a pipeline in other areas of the state.

He’s Juluke Part 2 except not as good at recruiting

Joseph pulled Chase who was adamant about going OOS.

Who did Juluke ever pull?

I think that also came from Marshall himself. I remember reading quotes from him about how coach E had been on him for years and years and he felt comfortable with E as the OC

(this was before Canada had been fired or his replacement got hired so people took this to mean we had been telling recruits for months that E was getting promoted and no actual search ever happened. Which may or may not be true, I have no way of knowing.)

See my above comment...

Joseph had little to do with Chase coming here. You could have inserted in a number of WR Coaches and gotten the same result.

The bottom line is we need someone with NOLA connections to recruit there, but it would be nice if that someone could also coach.

What’s the problem ? Mickey Joseph has connections in New Orleans and we need that. Many of the best come from there. I think Karr had over 10 signees to college this past year. At least he’s not on Bama payroll like so many others.

They were pissssssed about juluke. Would look bad to fire Nola connection two years in a row.

Too bad we didn't hire Tony Hull. If he can get quality NOLA kids to come to Kansas, the guy must be the freaking pied piper.

He played for one of the best high school coaches in Louisiana history and his brother is coach of the broncos. Don’t tell me he don’t know enough - he does.

That sounds like we have two coaches doing the job of one.

It would seem so. A QBs coach would have been a better use of resources than a WR coach with training wheels.
