i think winning the tourney makes it happen.. imo, the NCAA just needs an excuse to give LSU a regional.. they know that they make more money there than anywhere else.. add to that the fact that we will be considered against teams that normally dont draw shite for baseball, not Texas, ASU, etc.. add to that the fact that they could toss ULL or SLU into the BR regional and really blow up attendance, and i think its too much for the NCAA to give up..

even if we host as a 2 seed, i think it happens if LSU wins the tourney..

Ole Miss - Sub-Regional Host
Only if they win this tournament. They've sucked ever since they swept LSU. Lost 6 out of their last 7 games.

You know we are going to be one of the highest bidders with money.

I believe the following in the SEC will host

Florida - Top 8 seed
S. Carolina - Lost their Top 8 seed today
Auburn - Sub-Regional Host
Ole Miss - Sub-Regional Host
LSU/Arky/Vandy - Sub Regional Host - I think Arky going 0-2 and losing 2/3 to LSU earlier in the year helps us. LSU beating Vandy tonight - and if we win the SECT - I think we get it over them?

One can hope can't they?

It comes down to those last 3 as a regional host.
I seriously doubt the SEC gets 5 sites...just sayin'

all of this is plausible, imo

I think LSU hosts (if we sweep this tourney) is the wildcard. There is no other regional in the country that will raise more money than LSU and if you don't think that doesn't carry enough weight to get LSU a regional then you are blind to economics and the NCAA

How is winning the tournament going to matter?

Our only real shot at hosting would be to vault ourselves into the Top25/Top20 (keep in mind there are 16 regional sites).... and the only way to do that (coming into the SEC tourney) is to win the SEC tournament.

Like others have said, it's a longshot, but if we win this tournament we certainly put ourselves into the discussion and given our tradition and stadium we may very well end up getting a regional.

But hasn't in recent years, and it wont here. At least not as a 1 seed.

The sites are determined before the winner of the tournament is determined. If we host it will not have anything to do with winning this tournament and there will be a lot of pissed off people.

See above. So we're a paper #2. We bat as the away team in Alex Box

LSU doesn't deserve to host, no reason for the fans to be upset if we dont

Cakewalking in 3 games to the SEC Championship isn't easy...

I think its certainly plausible to host as a #2 seed.

unfortunately the regional sites are announced an hour and a half after the championship game starts. we would need a win in under an hour for that game to count

I didn't say we couldn't host as a 2 seed. Either was, this is way premature, its going to be ultra tough for LSU to win the next 2 games without a loss

It really isn't about "deserving"...more about money.

I put up a brave fight last night trying to map out a scenario whereby LSU would host, but I think I might have to now concede that it is really a huge long shot, especially with FSU's win over UVA and Auburn's win over SCAR today.

I'm saying there will be a bunch of pissed off people around the country if we host, because like you said....we do not deserve to.
