8th and 22nd in total defense, respectfully. Left that part out.

Canada is not some master-level schemer. But he demonstrates some imagination in his schemes. I didn't see imagination from Ensminger on Saturday. When you are facing a more talented team, that's when imagination is most needed.

Canada has been shut out and scored exactly 3 point in his last two games. Fact.

Have you seen what has been going on in this program, especially last week? They had 2 coaching changes last week alone. Players were protesting on twitter. Not exactly conducive to focus.

Misdirection, mostly. All those moving pieces look stupid on the TV screen, but they really do serve a purpose.

this is correct. While no one is a fan of jet sweeps every drive, we probably could have used one to get Dillon (or anyone) around the edge

Matt was not the long term solution. But his offense showed some potential. Problem is it was going to be figured out eventually and the jet sweeps can only get you so far.

Maybe Canada wasn't a long-term solution, but it's not because the offense was simply going to be "figured out".

The jet sweep isn't a trick play. The offense has been around for over half a century, and the fly motion is a basic component. So many different plays can be run to off of it because it manipulates the positioning of LBs and safeties.

It's not an infallible offense, but just because it's different doesn't mean it's gimmicky or ineffective.

Canada ran misdirection plays, sweeps, etc.. that made the Bama defense hesitate for a second which makes a huge difference. Etling also missed a few open receivers. Would have liked to see what Canada could have done with Burrow.

Ensminger runs the same offense regardless of opponent with no misdirection, no draws, or anything. It's basically a Les Miles offense that runs more shotgun formations.

I mean, we hired Les Miles' TE coach to run the offense. We were really expecting anything new against Bama?

Tua had a lot to do with it; i.e. number of possessions.

Different O Line IMHO. Also, not TUA as the QB.

How did Tua keep us from scoring exactly?

And let’s be fricking ja best about Tua. He looked average at best against us.
