If there was ever an indication that BK was mailing it in, it was his not seeing the issue with Davis as the O-line coach. It's easy to miss as a fan when he had the level of players we initially picked up. But an engaged coach should have seen the red flags with top-level talent producing only adequate results. It took dropping to above average to average talent to make the O-line blatantly show up as a poorly coached unit.

The only problem with this theory is that he nearly missed the playoffs this year but was gifted in on the last week. If he misses the playoff, he’d be on the chopping block. Otherwise, I agree.

Did you see him get pissed when one of his asst coaches hugged him while celebrating the Beck go ahead TD. Threw his arms up and basically says GTF off of me. Was still time on the clock and knew game wasn’t over. Very Saban like.

I didn’t see that specifically but I do like his attitude. Pretty stern but not in an alienating way to his players like some of the dickheads out there.

It’s the program building vs win now issue in the current era of CFB. Kelly made some moves to win now. Brought in Daniels and a few other pieces. Each year felt reactionary. He never built a solid foundation and the team crumbled around him.
