To me if a coordinator comes in, why does he not have the authority to pick his staff? It seems when Aranda and Pelini came in, it's basically said this is the staff you will be working with. Aranda was only allowed to bring Busch once the 10th assistant was approved.

I love Coach Raymond as much as any coach, but obviously him and Pelini are on a different page. As is every coach on D right now

E might find a spot on the staff if he decides to step down from the OC spot, maybe an analyst spot depending on the workload he wants. Kevin Faulk will probably stay, I can't see a LSU legend being kicked out after one season.

On the defensive side it might be a complete turnover. Raymond is probably the most likely to stay but that's iffy IMO.

Raymond- DBU record speaks for itself. I give him a break for one poor season with Bo.
Moffitt- People here shite on him but the reality is he is a top strength coach in the country and he’s already survived two other coaching regimes.

Other than that I don’t know of any sure fire safe guys. I would say maybe Mickey Joseph to keep the relationship with the NOLA high schools smooth, and maybe Kevin Faulk because he’s a Tiger legend, has recruiting connections and this is only his first year, so we don’t know his real potential. Bill Busch is a solid coach also, it wouldn’t surprise me if he stays on.

Edit: forgot about Greg McMahon the special teams coordinator. That has been our lone bright spot lately so maybe he stays.

When has LSU fired a DC after only 1 year? Wishful thinking...

I would like to keep Raymond, Joseph, and Busch myself. Busch is a great recruiter and has been the main guy on several high tier recruits since coming here.

When has LSU had the worst defense since the beginning of LSU football? I’ll answer that, right now

Bush, his recruiting is off the charts and he gets a pass this year, this isn’t on him. And look at the safeties he pulled in this year!!!!!

Agree. Only Raymond.
But I do think Faulk is safe since only there a year.
I think all 3 coordinators are gone, as well as Busch and Faulk.
Guessing Johnson and McMahon retire.
SE may go to another spot if he’s interested.

A new coach may keep one or two holdovers but will likely want to fill the staff with their own choices. Raymond would almost certainly be considered for that.

Gotta throw the name Callaway out there cause he’s my boy .....
I know he’s not on the field, but it would be a huge mistake IMHO to let him leave. He’s liable to get snatched up by another school quickly and after seeing what he did at Samford, he’s as close as you’ll get to Brady!
