By "elite", surely you mean coaches that have won a D1 championship...so Saban, Swinney, and Meyer. Yeah, maybe those guys wouldn't want the job based on where they are right now in their careers.

But let's see...are there any other good D1 coaches out there that want to win a National Championship? I mean, they'd only have to be as good as Lester or Ed.

That's right, you can't. It's LSU. It IS an elite job.

Bret Bielema wrote the Arkansas AD a letter talking about how he made the morally right but tough choice by firing Petrino, and that Bielema respected him because of it. This landed Bielema the job when he later interviewed for it with the same AD.

Could totally see him trying the same tactic with Woodward when he fires Orgeron
