The fact that Florida is still mentioned as a decent win is kinda laughable

Not saying Florida was a decent win, it’s rather embarrassing that the W was the result of a missed extra point & that game could’ve gone into OT & been a L. The point is, without the change of attitude after the Troy loss, LSU may have well lost to a weak UF team. The Troy loss may have actually been the eye opener for the team & coaches. You can’t deny that the team was different after the loss.

The players themselves have said that if they had beaten Troy then some of the other wins might not have happened.

This should scare the frick out of everyone if true.

Wait we are actually discussing the benefits of losing to Troy? Have some of you lost your minds. How about we beat Troy AND we beat these SEC teams in one of the worst years in recent conference history. Dang. O got y’all acting some kind of weird.

The irony is, as bad as we all think of that Troy loss, we would still be 4th in the SEC pecking order at 10-2 after beating Troy.

If you want to reverse a loss, reverse the alabama or State loss and we might be in the SECCG tomorrow.

Probably the same or a lower level bowl. Had we beat Troy, chances are the team wouldn’t have had “come to Jesus leadership” meetings & the sloppy unmotivated attitude would’ve hung around & cost us the Florida &/or the Auburn game.
Ok.

I hate the "what if" game as much as anyone, but I hate this line of reasoning even more.

This is basically saying "we're not going to be great, we're going to be a 3 loss team. If you remove this loss, you have to give up that win".

If I'm going to daydream about the possibilities, I don't want to "accept" that we're locked into being a marginal tea; and I wish people would stop pushing this message

I don’t think people really understand that. The team did not look good at all leading up to the troy game.

This... LSU would still be behind Georgia, Bama, and Auburn.

Thank you.

Why the hell do we have to accept losing to Troy because of what happened afterwards? It makes the Troy loss all the more egregious in my mind.

The fact that players said that loss brought them together is a red flag. There's a fundamental problem with intrinsic motivation if this is the case, which is ironic because that was supposed to be a strength of Orgeron.

If there is a lack of intrinsic motivation, then this team will always be a team that needs to get their fire from events that happen to them, rather than a team that's motivated because they've been thoroughly prepared to carry out the task at hand.

This can’t be upvoted enough. An LSU team that is unmotivated until we lose to Troy? And that’s a good thing?! And we used to get upset after Miles teams would lose motivation after losing to Bama- which often was the first loss. How the mighty have fallen.

Why should a team need a come to jesus moment to play well?

Why cant the ranters admit, that the players should be playing their best every game of the year?

Why isnt O getting more blame for us sucking against Moo state (who we shoild have beaten or at least been competitive with) and Troy????

Seriously, those boys shouldve been playing their best ball all season, not half of it. If we played how we played the last 7 games in the first 5 games we would be 11-1.

Not to mention, but also the "come to jesus" moment was Duke Riley. Not O.

I hate the rant.

Im impressed that O went 9-3, but honestly, if saban or urban meyer etc was our coach we wouldve went 11-1 easy. Which is why people didnt want O. LSU should have a top notch coach
