Exactly. When miles has his guy he has his guy and it takes injury or suspension to unseat his guy

There is a very large fact that since LSU lost Fisher the development/evolution of the Offense has gone south.
2013 was not a satisfactory evolution of offense? Wow!

Could not have done better? I honestly believe he would have easily.
What you or I believe means squat, and the staff knew different firsthand.
I expect Harris to shut this crap up eventually.

Lead by Zach Mettenberger a QB that started out at Georgia.

Which still didn't progress through reads. Threw into double coverage and was bailed out by Landry and OBJ a few times(excluding Ole Miss). And didn't realize the TE could catch a football.

While the run game play calling was still power and predictable. Although at least some threat of a passing attack backed people off somewhat.

Somebody did a review of 2013. We actually went 1st down run, 2nd down run, 3rd down pass a majority of the season. Just Mett with OBJ and Landry could convert longer 3rd downs.

You have yet to disprove my original statement.

Hurry up offense? They can't get plays called with enough time on the clock now...

What is this "offense" that you speak of?

I agree with your 2013 assessment. NFL WRs making circus catches bailed out the offense repeatedly. But it never seemed that defenses were surprised by the plays or formations, and only Landry and Beckam were ever thrown to.

I am pessimistic about the offense until the whole coaching staff is replaced.

biglego as much as I don't want to because I have a WANT for Miles and Cameron to be successful with LSU's offense. Problem is if you look at the numbers through Miles career at LSU, especially the last 5 years, the numbers have been pretty anemic. Obviously last year was phenomenal but after watching that year best in Miles career at LSU followed up by the worst in Miles career I am giving more credit to Mett, Juice, OBJ & Hill. Yes the coaches had to put them in the right position but I still think it came down to those 4 players being really special.

So I don't have a lot of confidence in Miles and Cameron righting the ship on offense next year as much as I hate to say that. I really, really hope I am wrong.

Just imagine what those 4 players would have done in a great offensive system

One thing I'd like to see is for the offense to be allowed to run plays that work more than once. When we see the rare play that's novel...and works...it is apparently dropped from the play book.

I hate when our really awesome players make plays for us. It makes the coaches look like they know what they're doing.

I know right, why would we throw it to those guys?

They each went over 1,000 yards playing for the same team, Mett threw for over 3,000 yards. How much more productive could each guy have been in a better system? How many teams have three guys each put up the numbers they put up?

One year in seven where the offense produced good numbers. An anomaly where four extremely talented offensive players put up those numbers running the same variation of offense we've seen since 2008 with Miles' QBs. Other than that, the offensive production has been shite. Quit being obtuse. Quit using the one year where NFL pro bowl caliber rookies made the offense run as an example that the offense works on a regular basis. It doesn't.

So you think their numbers would have been worse in a better system?

So kid, you don't want CC around in 2016 to coach Patterson and Franks?

Not at all. I just asked how much better you think their numbers would be if they had all played for someone like Sumlin or Malzahn last year.

Easy, killer...just sayin that when Miles has a good QB the offense can go. Does Miles and the staff have an issue evaluating/developing QBs...sure seems that way. I promise I pull my hair out with the offensive deficiencies too. But people are holding it against Miles that the offense only put up record numbers because they got really good players here. He had really awesome players, and they put up awesome numbers...isn't that how it's supposed to work?

They combined for what last year...3400 yards or something? Can you imagine them putting up like 3600 yards in a really good offense?
