We've all got out candidate list and that's been discussed ad nauseum.

But be it Vitello, McDonnell, Godwin, Corbin, Johnson, etc., we know we're getting a damn fine Head Coach. With that comes a new crew of assistants as well.

What do you hope the next coach brings to the table?

For me, I look forward to Quality ABs, Better Pitcher Development, and hopefully Better In-Game Decision Making.

What about you?

A better steroid program so we can pull our gorilla dicks out again.

A proactive approach to all sources of player procurement.

We've recruited HS players well.

We've struggled with our approach to recruiting JUCO guys.

Now add in the transfer portal.

All three will be important in getting the best players available.

Someone that will come out and throw his hat, kick some sand, maybe get kicked out of a game or 2. Even if it’s for a marginal call. Insert the it’s alive gif here.

A more modern approach to all aspects of player development.

Continue recruiting at a high level but be more proactive in recruiting jucos when/where needed.

Hold the admin’s feet to the fire about changes in and around the Box to create a better, more energetic atmosphere.

Also:

- Announcing the recruiting class some time before they arrive on campus in August.

- Regular updates on summer baseball

- Box scores for fall and spring scrimmages

- No weekend series against teams within driving distance

- No games against SWAC schools not located in Louisiana

Ability to base run, bunting, you know, the basics? I'd also like to see some semblance of a plate approach. Things that plagued PM's teams during his career here.

I'd like a pitching staff that has quality depth at all levels without season ending injuries all the time.

A coach and players who know situational awareness when it comes to base running, fielding, and batting. In recent years it seems like this team has no clue and stupid mistakes cost them several games.

Development

An aspect of this, is obviously Strength and Conditioning as well.

Many of the teams littering Omaha just look more physically developed than we do.

Do we have issues with S&C or is it simply the majority of the teams in Omaha are composed of more matured/older (Juniors/Seniors) players?
