Seems like a guarantee at this point.
A&M/Bama will get the CBS night game & LSU/Tenn at 2:30.

UGA will beat Auburn 35-0 in the 1st half. Only other interesting SEC matchup that week is Ark @ Miss St.

CBS has a double header that weekend. Those two games will definitely be LSU/Tenn & Bama/A&M. I could see them putting Bama/A&M at 2:30 and us in the night slot because of "Saturday night in Death Valley"

Does CBS get the first two picks that weekend? Or do they get first & third?

The amount of inaccuracies here are mind boggling

When CBS does a double header, their prime time game is the marquee matchup (i.e. Gary & brad). No way they choose LSU/Tenn over the Saban-Jimbo drama.

CBS gets 1st two picks

A&M could easily be 2-3 or 3-2 at that point. Tennessee should be 4-0 and us 4-1.

aTm and Bama will be primetime..thats the game that CBS identified they wanted when they chose that week for the doubleheader.

CBS will have the top two choices and as of right now, that looks like the best option for 2:30 would be LSU / Tennessee BUT if Auburn were to beat LSU I would not rule out UGA vs Auburn which is the souths oldest rivalry and a chance to have the #1 team in the country on TV during a rivalry game

LSU vs Tennessee is 100% not a definite for CBS and it is almost assuredly would be the day game if CBS were to pick it up

Even if A&M is not as good as they were projected to be in the preseason, the SOLE reason that date was chosen as a double-header date is the Alabama v A&M game. It is entirely possible A&M could be 2-3 going into that game, but it doesn't matter. The Saban/Jimbo drama was one of the biggest stories of the offseason. "Saturday night in Death Valley" doesn't move the needle nationally if it features a potentially unranked LSU team.

However, LSU v Tenn could be the 2:30 game. In the preseason the logical choice would have been UGA v. Auburn. Now, Auburn's season could be teetering on the brink. I wouldn't be surprised to see CBS elect to pick the matchup until after the LSU v. Auburn game...with the winner getting the 2:30 slot

I won't say that doesnt matter at all but it definitely doesnt dictate viewership. aTm vs Bama will outdraw LSU vs Tennessee even if LSU wins the next two and aTm loses the next two

Yes they thought that would be the biggest game that weekend whenever they chose it to be the double header. That can change if A&M isn't as good as they thought and other teams are better.

I guess this is true if we lose to Auburn, but I'm assuming we won't. LSU/Tenn could easily be the night game though.

Doubt they really want back to back SEC contests.

It doesn't matter what they thought preseason. A #5 Tennessee vs. #18 LSU is a bigger game than #2 Bama vs. unranked A&M. Saturday Night in Death Valley is a national thing. There's a reason they have both time slots instead of just switching the 2:30 slot for the 7pm slot.

Good point. Auburn has looked terrible so far, but they will be motivated at home against LSU.

I would say winner of LSU/Auburn gets the 2:30 slot for 10/8, but that means CBS uses their 6-day window or whatever to select games.

UGA/Auburn at 230. Bama at 700. We get the ESPN night slot.

There is no ESPN night slot when CBS has a double header

All ESPN games are in the morning except for a 3pm on the SEC Network

People were looking forward to this Bama/A&M matchup since last year’s upset. Then it got amplified x 100 this summer. CBS isn’t passing on this game fir primetime simply because of “Saturday Night in Death Valley”. Don’t be this stupid.
