I like Ford a lot, and I out of HS I thought he was going to be great, but Ware seems to be "the guy" for the next couple of years at least. Gore will get his carries because he is a different type of back, and the coaches seem to like the stuff Blue does, so Ford won't get too many carries when it's all said and done. I could be wrong, and he seems like the guy that would get all the carries out of the option, but I see him getting a similiar amount of carries that Keiland got in 2007 and 2008.

Ford seems to be a very good back, but Ware is looking fricking fantastic.

Ford is a straight line back. He's not gonna make you miss in the hole. He's not gonna juke to many ppl. He's not as nimble as Gore, Ware, or even Ridley. But if he has a crease he can take it to the house.

Im wondering why you say the coaches like Blue over Ford? Ford had twice as many carries as Blue last year.

Blue was getting way more snaps before his injury and got more reps in the scrimmage the week before the spring game, Miles also consistently brings up Blue in interviews. We'll see though

Ford would be a stud back in an Auburn/Oregon/MSU type offense where he could take advantage of other teams dime and nickle packages and could take advantage of a LB missed read and and reach the second and third levels easily.

#4 yeah he's had a couple of nice runs against SEC competition but how is he grading out every play, is he missing blocks
That all factors into playing time so far Ford has not earned

This. I want to see more Ford. I think he has the potential to be one of our best backs. However, he looks awful in pass protection (see Cotton Bowl)

This will limit his playing time and limit the situations in which we can use him.

I think a lot of people are sleeping on this cat.

Yes, Ware might just be our most versatile, dynamic playmaker on offense (he can catch, obviously he can run, and heck, he can throw it, if need be).

Yes, Gore has shown far more make-you-missability than Shep has and he hasn't even made it into a game yet.

But, Mike Ford is a home-run threat at tailback. I'm not sure Ware has his speed, or his sudden-cut ability. He is definitely not going to be the guy that beats you the edge like a Ford can on a toss or a sweep.

Just my opinion, but don't sleep on Mike Ford...

Ware is a cut above Ford from what I've seen.

Our OC is different than that assclown that is no longer here. He'll play the best at that time. And save all the JJ BS, JJ is the best right now, but that could easily change over the summer once everyone else is completely up to speed.

very well said.

with only twenty carries it's tough to make a solid judgement on Blue. he averaged 5ypc and I like the way he hits the hole. both Blue and Ford should be that much tougher with a year of maturity and experience.

Ford isn't lacking in ability, its the intangibles(assignments, holes, blocking). He is stronger, and faster than Ware. Ware is just much better at all the intangibles, and has more wiggle/contact ability. Once Ford gets his awareness moment, he will be right there with Ware.

His weightroom #s maybe better than ware's, but I think ware has more on field strength if that makes any sense at all.

Ford is good and would likely be the top back now if not for Ware, but Ware is just special. That's like saying Rondell Mealey should have started over Kevin Faulk. Mealey was really good, but Faulk was just better.

If he is not on the field then he is obviously doing something wrong. I'll let the coaches coach and decide who plays not the fans.

Lol, Ware has more explosiveness in his left pinkie than Ford does in his whole body. Will people stop making excuses for this guy? He hasn’t lived up to the billing so far, period.

easy there paco....I love both guys....but ford is def faster and is in the top 5 of every lifting category on the team... speed & power = explosiveness....

- Gore most likely resembles K. Faulk
- Ware/Ford most likely resembles C. Collins
- Blue most likely resembles R. Mealy

IMHO

Ware has it. There's something special about him, I think we're going to have a really great starting RB this year. Ridley was very solid and pounded very well, but Ware is going to rip defenses up imo.

Ford has a lot of ability. But he clearly struggles in pass protection. This is likely why Blue is ahead him in the pecking order.

Unless you play in an option-oriented offense, you will never be the feature back if you can't pass protect. Period. It doesn't matter who the head coach is.

Ford reminds me of Georgia's Caleb King in this regard.
