quote:. I was using that as a generality for those types of teams not specifically Troy. In fact I said in an earlier thread that Troy has a good rush defense, this can stop teams like us.
Go back and watch our previous games against troy. Outmuscled will not come to mind. Statements like this is why you get so much pushback.
I was there for the last one against Troy where I froze my arse off.
With that said, go back and watch every colder game that LSU had played in in its history.
Some close calls/ losses that come to mind are
At Arky a few years back - shut out loss
Ole Miss in about 2002, - Loss
Troy in 2008 was down alby a ton.
LSU has played less inspired as the temperature has dropped for years.
I wish I had all the data, but those stick out as recent ones.
With the Jarrett Lee Interception year, it took a coach shitting his pants to lose that Troy game in 2008.
Like then, I was ready to fire Miles because of the 2 losses in 2007 and waste of talent from 2006.
Make no mistake, I never wanted Miles after 2008, but we paid the bastard so much we couldn’t get rid of him. Then he played us again In 2011 for the current extension.

We won the National Title and you wanted to fire the coach ?

2006 we finished #3. The AP poll started in 1936 In it’s history LSU has finished in the top 3 7 Times: 36, 58, 59, 03, 07, 11 are the others. That’s not a “waste” of talent.
ETA: 3 of our 7 top 3 finishes belong to Miles

Seriously. Just stop.
Stop posting facts?
Is Troy not receiving votes from 4 professional Coaches? Coaches whose opinions carry more weight than yours or mine. That is unless you are one of the 64 coaches casting a vote.
Basically you and the other O'Haters can justify criticising the team for only beating crap SEC teams but not acknowledge that Troy appears to be better than the typical Sun Belt whipping boy and the loss isn't nearly as egregious as previously perceived!

You're aware that the coaches don't actually vote in that poll, right? It's all grad assistants and interns.

I'm sure it happens frequently, but it's speculatory. Either way the argument that the Troy loss, while it is terrible and should never happen is NOT as bad as previously thought.

Only if LSU had continued to lose would this be true. Troys record in this is irrelevant. The more we win the worse that loss is.
Under no circumstances should LSU ever lose to Troy and if said loss does occur at no point should it ever be deemed even .00000001% "palatable".
