West division and East division

Why are there two divisions, when you don't get a thing for winning either except a bye. Why not play every other team in the conference and then if the AD s decide they need more money then have the tournament. Not at Hoover. Bear Bryant;s ghost still wanders over there.
Anyway, 13 teams played, times three game series, alternating home every other year. Thats 39 games, and then you can add in some ham and egg teams in mid week. Something wrong with this, except that it makes too much sense.

That would mean there would only be one out of conference weekend series since we only have four of those now.

I would prefer to see other teams from around the country come to the Box rather than just SEC teams.

Plus it would mean we would be starting conference series in February.

When I was at LSU, the Western division had their own tourney and the Eastern division had their own tourney.
