I don't know how old you are, but I pitched in the Major leagues when I was 18.
There are some who remember when LSU had one set of uniforms, and the locker room was concrete block, no air conditioning, and nails to hang the clothes and uniforms on. The coach (no assistants) washed the clothes, drug the diamond, got paid, at the most, 7500 per year, had no place to practice in the fall, because the football team practiced in the outfield, recruited whatever he could find, with no time to go out and see high school players, rode the bus everywhere with the team, and had baseball players living in the old, old Pentagon.
Without a doubt, Pistol Pete could fire up a crowd better than anyone.
Have you been smoking bananas. Tulane has about the fourth best program in the state. They don't know what a good program is. When they play LSU they pump it up even though to LSU it is another mid week game to let the young inexperienced guys. Its about like playing Louisiana College.

1. Take the bleachers out and replace them with chair backs and move the bullpens off the field.
2. Build a bern where people can go and relax, though the games are at times not relaxing.
3. Get the ball girls some uniforms that are classy, not looking like they came from salvation army stores.
4.Extend the netting to the end of the baselines.
5. Clean up the dugout and tunnel area. They are a disgrace.
6.How about a visitors dressing room?
7. Get better lighting. Ours is ten years behind. You shouldnt see shadows at a night game.
8. Replace the dying grass with artificial turf. Its not that expensive.
Thats it for now.....more later.

re: Baseball Clinics

David Delucci and the Major league Baseball Players Alumni have been putting on clinics for a couple of years.Don't know if they still are, but his baseball facility on Ben Hur should be able to tell you. I am sure they are free.
Makes no sense and I don't believe he said that. I was told many times, as were other pitchers in the bullpen to 'Get good and loose and then sit down with your jacket on"
Perhaps having pitchers all throw over 50 yards when warming up, puts a strain on the muscles. They only pitche 60.50 feet. Also maybe the pitchers should warm up a little longer than 12 minutes then sit down, then go out and pitch. Maybe someone should study how many pitchers on other teams have the same problems. Pitching on the sidelines may not be the same as in a game but it still tires the muscles. Has anyone studied the mechanics of some of the LSU pitchers. Seems to me there weren't as many bad arms twenty years ago..Just an unasked for opinion.

re: Throwback hats

No matter what anyone says , those hats with the big L
are not throwbacks. LSUs former hats before skip began fooling with them were a gold L with serifs on the top and the leading edge of the L.
I know this because I have been associate with LSU since 1954, and if a search was made Coach Raby had no letters on his hats.
The jersey is NOT from 1965 or anywhere close. I know cause I was a coach then on those teams. Also, the L on the cap is not the same. I have a cap from those years, and speak from experience.
My only question is WHY wear black uniforms????
Hows this:
End- Gaynell Tinsley and Doug Moreau
Tackle-Sid Fournet and George Tarasovich
Guard- Cant think of any right now
Center-Bill Bofinger
QBs Bert Jones and YA Tittle
HB-Billy Cannon and Charles Alexander
FB- Red Broadnax
I am. I signed in 1955 my freshman year. Never played for LSU but was on scholarship when freshmen couldnt play

I knew some numb nut idiot would turn a simple truth into some perverted. Thats whats wrong with this spot. Everyone, almost has some obscene to say and nothing that is a legitimate statement. Now lets hear from you, numb nuts...

It's not the color of the jersey, its that thing hanging out under the jersey that matters

West division and East division

Why are there two divisions, when you don't get a thing for winning either except a bye. Why not play every other team in the conference and then if the AD s decide they need more money then have the tournament. Not at Hoover. Bear Bryant;s ghost still wanders over there.
Anyway, 13 teams played, times three game series, alternating home every other year. Thats 39 games, and then you can add in some ham and egg teams in mid week. Something wrong with this, except that it makes too much sense.

Bruce Baudier in 1967 threw a perfect game against Alabama, in the first game of a double header. Dick Hicks pitched a one hitter in the second game. How do I know this? I was the pitching coach from 1963 through 1971.
Though it was not broadcast in the 60's and 70's, there was a standing rule that when the train came by, and there was a runner on second base, the pickoff was on every other pitch, since the runner couldn't hear the coach, and because the engineer on the train blew the whistle at that time. Picked off some runners.
