I've been saying this for 4 years now, Lee wasn't that bad in 2008. Did he have a lot of interceptions? Yes. Did the defense help him AT ALL? No.
Very much agree with this. JL was pretty good as a Fr provided: a) there was someone to spell him (Hatch before the injury vs UGA) and b) he wasn't compelled to make something happen every snap because the D was so bad.
I don't dismiss the int's. They're on JL. But the pick 6's were mostly a fluke (he couldn't have done that had he tried).

Go back and look at the offensive output that year (including Lee's). It's not nearly as bad as most LSU fans remember. The defense was simply atrocious so we were always playing from behind - this led to a lot of Lee's interceptions. Now I'm not arguing that he was great that year, or that he doesn't deserve any of the blame for the problems we had, but he was definitely a serviceable QB.

Idk, but the worst starting qb in the history of this school started the majority of games in this 4 years.
So yeah I suppose answer is yes.

Overall ..... Maybe. I thought both JJ and JL had their moments of significant accomplishments on the football field at different times. Hard to argue with the overall success of the program as well. May they both rest in folklore peace.

Agreed. One of the games that JL caught the most flak for was the UGA game where we lost 52-38. he threw two pick-6's in that game which gave UGA 14 points. But do the math, that means our defense gave up 38 points on their own. At the same time, our offense scored 38 points against a pretty good UGA defense. If our defense would have held their end of the bargain, even with the pick-6's, it would have at least been a close game.

Were the last 4 years the worst stretch of QB play in LSU history?
2009 being the only aberration.

WTF?
Out of the years 2008 thru 2011, 2009 was clearly the worst quarterbacked year of them all.

The K.O. Trimble/Billy Broussard days were worse.
No doubt about it.

And what was different about that particular stretch?
No matter, LookAtMe will be in here to dazzle us with some spreadsheets and selective statistics, and boxcar and the rest of the family will ask you what you were watching-Tebow II was terrific behind center.

the last 3 games of the year saw the worst QB play I can remember.

His TD/INT ratio is a lot better than a good number of LSU QB's.
Selective stats only guys are the worst. JJ was freaking horrible in every facet.
Took way too many sacks and looked to run way too much when his number one option was covered. His pocket presence was the worst I've seen here and you can't "stat" that.
