Were the last 4 years the worst stretch of QB play in LSU history?

Yea, oh hell yea we are discussing it again.

Seems one Jamie Howard has his problems but any
other time periods jump out at you?

TIA

Not on LSU teams that were this good.

Do you realize we have gone 24-3 in 2 seasons with piss poor QB play?

we won 33 games from 2009-2011

as bad as the QB play seemed, it's all relative. It wasn't great, but our QB play for the most part got the job done.

Yeah but y'all are missing the point. His point is qb play specifically. And the to the OP, my answer is yes.

No, just no. Outside of the first half of 2011, QB play has been downright abysmal. QB has been a major liability in pretty much every game since 2008. Defense got the job done. The running game got the job done. Special teams got the job done. QBs did not.

I do, yes. Question is specific to QB play, not overall record.

Yes. The QBs for LSU were putting up worse stats than the QBs for Georgia Tech running the option

While Chad Loup and Jesse Daigle weren't exactly setting the world on fire nor were they consistent, their combined learning curve was levels above JJ/Lee.

74-76 were pretty bad as well:
'74: changed to the veer O but Miley went to MLB; which left Broussard and Trimble at QB.
'75: Pat Lyons and Bobby Moreau
'76: same as in '75 except Ensminger (true Fr) started the last 2-3 games.

I was at LSU at this time and dont remember anyone bad. Hell Hodson was one of best we ever had. Who do you mean?

Just imagine what it would have been with a decent QB!

That's no saying much. He shared time w/ Guidry and Wendell Davis made Hodson.

The sad truth is we've never had very good QB play. But it's a team sport and you can win NCs with a QB who doesn't loose the game for you. Just look at Bama.

Pretty specific question and yet people still interpret it in different ways. And yes, our QB play was garbage compared to the amount of talent we had at other positions...worst in history.
