An ump with this kind of philosophy calls a strike zone based on whether he thinks a team is being aggressive at the plate. The strike zone is therefore inconsistent throughout the game.

If the judgement isn't consistent (as it is in this game) then it is an unfair variable. I happen to think sports should have no other variables other than the ability and execution of each athlete.

This is an unnecessary variable that strays from allowing the best players/ teams from winning. Some pitchers/ teams may be more successful with a proper strike zone, while others may have an advantage with a larger strike zone. It needs to be consistent. It's analogous to having the width of the field vary from game to game or possession to possession in football.
