Scheme vs players. I guess that’s better not sure.

Why can’t it be both ?

I think about 95% of the fans are at least on board with the fact that we can do better at OC.

I think it's fair to say in order to compete with the elite teams in the country you need better players to run the scheme we ran Saturday or you need a better scheme to compete with the players we have.

If your scheme involves going at them and not really hiding it, you probably need much better players than the other team.

That’s why Canada uses misdirection

That’s why Baylor back in the day started using speed and space.

Which is never going to happen while Saban is at Alabama. We are never going to out recruit him. And asking O to is not fair.

So, we need a different scheme. It's that's simple.

we are 104th in the country (12th in SEC) in total offense.

if you can name 103 teams in the country (11 in SEC) with equal or better talent than LSU, then i’ll listen to the players vs scheme argument.

the worst statistical offensive performances against Alabama so far this year was LSU.

if you can honestly convince me that every other team they’ve played so far has better players than LSU, then i’ll listen to the scheme vs players argument.

and before anyone tries the “Bama don’t play starters in 4th qtr”: A&M, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Missouri, Arkansas all scores in the first quarter against Bama’s starters.

so if we don’t have the absolute worst collection of players Bama has faced all season, then what are you left with?

Bama didn't play starters in the 4th quarter of any of these games.

Bama beat:

Ole Miss by 55

Texas A & M by 22

Arkansas by 34

Missouri by 29

Tennessee by 37

Had Bama played starters throughout most of the 2nd half and all of the 4th quarter, these margins of victory would have been much larger.

Saban himself said that the LSU game was the most complete game they had played this year and the only one he left the starters in for the full 4 quarters. He said they set out to make a statement, and they accomplished that.

My goodness. Canada was shut out by Iowa two weeks ago and scored 3 points against Michigan state this week. So was it scheme since he’s creative and uses miss direction?

and?

does that change the fact that all of those teams SCORED against Bama’s starters?

which was the point of the post.

Why are you just looking for suffice? Are you scared of having a GOOD offense?

Well, since we lost 2 games I guess the answer is no.

Eta: Again, it's not about losing to Bama. It's the ZERO.

Yup!

There has a to be a reason teams like Auburn, Ole Miss, and a&m can have success and at least compete.. while we have not lately..

They aren't out-recruiting him or even us..

It still makes me sick a team like Tenn can put up 20+ on them this year.. and we lay an egg at home yet again.

On offense is awful, but will still find ways to beat up on inferior teams.. or have enough success to get by on talent.. We need a coach to take us over the hump against superior talent.

Exactly. So if the scheme was so good for every game outside of everyone but Bama, wouldn't that suggest that we would have only lost to Bama?

I suppose
But you realize it’s possible to lose a game say...... 35-34

Fla defense played well that day.
Most everyone would agree.
