Well I was actually hoping Les Miles would FINALLY see the error of his ways and change his offensive scheme so he could become very successful at Kansas! But the tea leaves are predicting same old Les Miles!!

Uh has anyone ever heard this before prior to a spring game coached by Miles????????

“Although Miles earlier this week warned that, from a play-calling standpoint at least, the scrimmage will look more “rudimentary” or “vanilla” than the product he and his staff hope to put on the field this fall”

Damn that man is subborn as a MULE!!!

Obviously it doesn’t mean Miles is going to back his favorite offense of 3 yds and a cloud of dust! But I know we have heard that same damn thing from him year after year!!!

That style of play may actually make things a little interesting. He’d be going against the grain against most teams in the Big 12.

Hmmmm....seems he was very successful at LSU using that scheme.

With the way defense is played in the big 12 it may just work. Recruit the biggest lineman you've ever seen and a 260 pound rb and see what happens.

If he can build a defense up there, then he very well could be successful in the Big 12 running an old fashioned offense. He’s not going to be facing NFL defensive lines anymore like he was while at LSU. He’ll be going up against some very weak defenses

It’s an objectively good strategy to win ball games even if it’s not going to win championships most of the time. That style of play helped contribute to Les never having a losing season at LSU even during down years

It’s a great starting point for a team like Kansas that is as close to the bottom as you can get

I’m no Miles fan but a couple points here. A. Kansas doesn’t have 5* skill position play makers all over the field like we did. B. During the rebuilding process he will need to shorten games by using his running game making it an ugly smash mouth game. C. By doing the exact opposite of other Big-12 schools he may be able to catch teams off guard by taking them out of their comfort zone and playing a completely different style the way Army and Navy do to more talented teams. Finally this is Les Miles, he lied at LSU for years telling everyone he was going to renovate the offense and never did. If the man wouldn’t do it with as high the stakes were and under as much pressure as he was here he’s not going to do it at a place who wants him there. Miles value to Kansas will not be innovating offense, it will be teaching that school the proper way to run a bigtime program from recruiting to the day to day operations. He’ll likely have a bigger impact from Sunday to Friday than he will on Saturday over there. We have our own set of problems here why worry about Les Miles at Kansas?

It’s a decent strategy. Big 12 defenses are soft as owl shite in the middle. No they won’t beat Oklahoma Texas but all he is trying to do is go to a bowl game every year. If he does that he will be there forever.

He's only got 30% of the offense installed.

Everyone is always bashing Miles' offense playing in the SEC west without a competent QB and still winning 9-10 games most years. Who else did this?

How many points has the new coach scored on anyone worth a shite with a SR QB and this new star from Ohio State?

Last season was ok, but the biggest memory from last year was watching LSu's QB run for his life every game. Even against small schools.
Last year's OL play was embarrassing.

The QB last year saved the season. What a tough and poised player. Hard not to appreciate his play.

Can you imagine the record, if LSU had started Justin McMillan last year? Or what this offense wouldve looked like?
Who wouldve thought losing Surtain to the Gumps would allow LSu to land this QB and save the season? But yet we want to take a shot at a previous coach, SMH.
LSu has its own coaching and offensive issues to sort out.

His style may fit Kansas better than it did LSU.

In today's scrimmage, Texas Tech showed more emphasis on defense under its new coaching staff.

Maybe things are slowly changing in the Big 12.

Well any Big 12 coach that is serious about competing on the national stage, is going to have to improve their defense

He can have a lot of success with the triple option in the Big 12 since they don't play defense.
