Brian Kelly said on his radio show Thursday that we’ll be seeing a lot of Harold Perkins this Saturday. I’m curious as to where they’ll play him though, most of his snaps against southern were at the “Jack” linebacker position.

It doesn't matter where he plays. You find a place for that kind of talent.

Tell him to go right at their QB every play and Kick his arse.

Now THAT’s what State is hoping for. Their offense is designed to frustrate impatient defenses.

In terms of raw talent, he probably has more than anyone else on LSU’s team. Don’t give him a lot to think about right now as a true freshman, just let him instinctively play. That’s probably why he’s playing more Jack LB.

In addition to how athletic he is, his instincts are top notch. It won’t long before he starts taking games over.

Once Perkins learns the system our D becomes significantly better. He's got elite physical skills. I think he has the physical tools to develop into a Micah Parsons type LB.

This may be an ignorant statement, but do y’all see the coaching staff using him in the same type of role Marcel Brooks had in 2019?
However, i know Perkins is more of a true LB than Brooks.

I'm not sure what his best position will be, but I'd assume he'll be part of Saturday's game plan because he can cover the flat and is laterally quick. Our LB's were dreadful in the opening game against FSU. They really struggled to contain and tackle in space. Maybe this is Perkins strength area?
He also might just be better in coverage than Baskerville, Ojulari, and the other OLB's. We'll see.

Eating up Crossing routes should be his thang.

We should see a lot of Dime, likely with Perkins subbing in for Ojulari.

So patiently sit in a zone off the line of scrimmage with no pressure?
Sounds like a 3rd and exponentially worse FSU defense

Yes! the way to beat them is to make them take the underneath stuff and make tackles. Once they get in the redzone their spacing gets condensed and they either throw ints or settle for FGs.
Thats how we beat them last year. in 2020 we tried to blitz and play man and they set records on us.

MSU crushed LSU in 2020 with that strategy, albeit with Ed and Bo running the defense.

Having Baskerville and Ojulari on the field most of the time and Perkins playing a lot minuets will improve the defense significantly.

Harold Perkins is a Devin White, Kendal Beckwith type of weapon.
You can't keep him on the bench, he's too good

You give him the "Bobby Boucher" position and let him loose.
