Helsinki, Finland, 1982. Walked by a soccer field and this little kid playing soccer was wearing the classic LSU T shirt with Mike stepping over Tiger Stadium. After a lot of gesturing (I don't know Finnish) I finally got him to pose for a picture.

French teenager wearing a 2007 BCS Championship T-shirt this morning in St. Maarten at a restaurant. I asked him what team he liked and he said with his Frenchy accent, "LSU - Go Tigers!" That kid made my week.

Summer 2006: After being in line at the Eiffel Tower for about an hour, Started talking to the guy behind us in line. Turns out he was an alum of the Golden Band from Tiger Land. Waited the next hour and a half talking football and everything else LSU.
Two hours later, in completely different section of Paris, I here a GEAUX TIGERS! Same guy, our hotels were near each other. Weird, but cool

My family went to the Grand Canyon this Mardi Gras and we stopped to take a picture near the sign at the entrance. A couple taking a picture just ahead of us had LSU stuff on. We took each others' pictures. The guy was from Gonzales.
About an hour later I'm in the Maswik Lodge cafeteria waiting to order and I start talking with a US Park Service employee. He hears my accent and asks me about South Louisiana. He was an LSU grad from the early 70s. Small world.

El Salvador - 2007, during LSU vs. BAMA
Business trip down there and we are getting constant updates from our wives on the game. We win, go crazy at the play by play given by our significant others, decide to go out to party...
Head to the local marina where a sailfish tournament is wrapping up and they're announcing the winners. Walk up to a table of 4-5 dudes who wearing LSU apparel and announce ourselves as Tiger fans. They ask who won because they've been out at sea all day, we fill them in and proceed to celebrate all over again.
Our hosts didn't understand what the hell was going on. I was happy until the cell phone bill came in the next month...
