We will still be a top 8 team heading to Bama.

After we beat them, we will be top five

They were already ranked 24 in the preseason poll. I think it’s maybe because they went to an NY6 bowl last year and have the chance to again.

Pretty gracious in my opinion. I figured FSU would slide to our previous spot and deservedly so. I figured we woudl drop to 17 or so.

I'm surprised we're even that high....no rationale for putting LSU ahead of North Carolina....

I can't wait till the 12 team playoff next season so that one loss doesn't feel like all hope is lost. I'd still be super excited about the season right now.

Just can’t have any hiccups before we play Bama this year

even with just a 4 team playoff you need a couple losses before you have to lose all hope. We’re still alive.

LSU still controlled their own destiny to win the NC last season even with 2 losses going into the Bama game last year. If we beat A&M last year, the UGA SECCG would’ve been a quarterfinal matchup for LSU.

its it’s own separate discussion but LSU could start 2-2 this season with a loss at Ole Miss and theoretically still win out, win the SEC and be in the playoffs.

why? Then we’re behind 2 ACC teams.

You want the team that beat you to be undefeated & ranked #1 so that the CFP committee is easily able to excuse our loss.

Before Sunday, when was the last time LSU gave up 31 points in a half?

LSU has a TON of work to do to even think about being a top ten team.

That's because people here overreacted to the final score.

The fact is, at the end of the 3rd quarter, we were driving the ball, had a 1st down at midfield. Down 7 points, despite ignoring 2 FGs (would have been a 1 pt game), and with better execution in the redzone, would have been ahead. We'd gone up and down the field at will before getting to the redzone, Daniels was hitting his WRs and occasionally running for good yardage. The game was still basically a stalemate at that point.
And that was in a hostile environment (Fla State fans owned that stadium, made LSU fans in the Dome last year look weak in comparison), against a very good team that significantly improved it's WR corps.

We went into the ditch in the 4th quarter, but that's fixable.

And I don't see another team with Fla State's talent on our schedule, at least until we play Bama.
The cold truth of the matter is, we beat at least 8 teams on our schedule playing that exact level of game against them. If we clean things up, we probably win 9 or 10.
