I’ve been practicing clapping and yelling in the rain.

I’m doing my part. Hope all the other fans are too.

I turned on the Weather Channel to get this information and that's all they were talking about was some storm coming to Louisiana as though they were not aware that this was a road game for us.

I was there. The thing I remember is the wind tearing up the down markers and blowing the orange pylons all over the place.

That’s was the worst game of the LSU variety that I’ve ever sat in. The weather was horrible and we were worse.

It is known that the receivers have the advantage in the rain. They know where they are going the defender does not. Gives the receiver the advantage in the break defenders tend to slip more. Maybe we will have the advantage.

Check the weather on Friday and you will have a better gauge. One thing for sure, it will be wet.

I was a quarterback throughout high school and my first year in college, then a safety the rest of college.

If the field is just a little wet, there's really no advantage either way. If the field is sloppy, the advantage is to the defensive back.

On a sloppy field, the receiver may know where he's going, but he still can't make a sharp cut. As a defensive back, you can give a little more cushion. When the receiver makes his cut, you can just make a straight break on the ball. You don't have to cut, like the receiver does. Add in the fact that the quarterback likely doesn't have the same zip on the ball, and making up ground is easier for the defensive back.

I agree. Rain is overrated. Wind is not. If we keep our passes short and quick, the rain shouldn’t be that much of a detriment to our passing game. I guarantee, their DBs will be more bothered by the rain than our offense will.

And they have that long flight. Will they be rested? Do they have the right cleats and rain gear?
