the radar has been fricking clear and was projected to be clear. The issue is they don’t feel comfortable unless they can be assured a full 9 inning block.

It's literally rained hard for like 15 minutes this afternoon and it's not like we've been dodging cells left and right.

After that shower it was too wet to cut my front yard. It's been so damn sunny since that I could probably cut it now.

And what’s wrong with that?

Zero games would get played if that was the norm reason to delay games.

It wouldn’t be tRant if there wasn't melting

Hell it wouldn’t be a fan message board for any team if there wasn't some kind of melting 24/7/365

Some are still crying that Skenes didn't finish game 3 of the '23 CWS

If you have to have it explained to you, you wouldn’t understand.

Not only is it annoying from a fan perspective, it’s unsportsmanlike. You are leveraging the rules to try to cover up a weakness in your team. If the shoe was on the other foot, they wouldn’t be doing this.

As others have said, you don’t see this pattern elsewhere.

Well good thing this game actually means something and it’s not just some random zero game

Except for a few people with their head in the sand everyone here already knows why he does it.

I think most do, yeah. But I still see a lot of folks either:
A) referencing the rule for the regular season that says the home team’s AD has control (acting like the NCAA has zero say in the matter), or
B) referencing the rule that the NCAA rep has control in the postseason (acting like LSU has zero say in the matter).

The truth is in the middle as far as I can tell. The NCAA has the ability to rein this in. Their rep has to sign off on the delays. LSU is probably influencing those delays, in which case Jay Johnson isn’t going to outright state “yeah, we gamed the system” for reasons that should be obvious. If anything he’s probably insulated from that to whatever extent possible for plausible deniability.

It’s probably going to take a name program with a large following being sent here and having it impact their game directly or indirectly, and their media questioning the site reps before any real attention is drawn to it.

Agree with this. It’s going to take another team complaining that they got fricked by delays. I could see ESPN having an impact as well if it’s fricking up their TV schedule, though I’m not sure how much difference it truly makes to them in terms of overall viewership.

In any case, I think it’s reasonable as fans to say that these delays are reaching absurdity. I think it’s also reasonable to say that most fans would rather win starting late than lose starting on time. So I can see both sides from LSU’s perspective.

Who’s “you” and “your” and “they”?

I don’t think you understand how this works

What is this weakness you speak of?

I'm honestly surprised Rhode Island or DBU didn't bring this up last week.

Maybe it's a coincidence that both lost the day after finishing a game at 2am, and then were the first two teams eliminated from the regional. But also, maybe it wasn't.

The NCAA makes the call as to a weather delay or not. However, it is the home school who gives them the "local" weather information. TIFWIW.

And fans would crucify Jay Johnson if he allowed the game (and Eyanson) to start, only to get a weather dealy during the game, thus wasting Eyanson.

It's a lose-lose, but this is the path of least resistance if they end up winning.
