Wouldn't it be a nightmare if we had to go Monday and Tuesday and play into the morning hours just to finish the regional. Then the real kicker could be that we exhaust all of our starters because it would be too early by Friday to give them enough rest to pitch. But I am sure the SEC and NCAA will remedy that.

Lafayette would get that treatment too, and we're on the opposite bracket. typically one side starts Friday, other side starts Saturday Then Friday Regional starters would start Day 1 in Omaha, Saturday Regional starters would start Day 2 in Omaha.

He is talking about the Super start day. And I believe his point is that the Baton Rouge and Lafayette regionals could both be pushed into early next week due to the same weather problems, but one winner could still be asked to start the Super on Friday since they are in different Omaha brackets (typically one side of the Omaha bracket starts their Super on Friday the other on Saturday).

I have no idea if it would play out that way, but that's what I took from it.

I dont think it has to be 1,4,5, and 8 start on friday and 2,3,6,& 7 on Saturday (or vise versa). I'm not 100% it's that rigid.

Because he was replying to posts that were discussing when the Super would start based on when the regional finished, and he probably assumed that everyone knows the Super takes place between regionals and Omaha.

I think it has a lot more to do with when a super ends then when it starts. A friday super can go to Monday with a rainout, a Saturday super can end on Sunday.

Yeah I'm not sure either. I'm almost certain it wasn't when the format was first implemented, but maybe they have been making an effort more recently to keep things on as even of a playing field as possible (as far as pitching rest prior to the first game in the CWS).

Lafayette Supers and BR SUPERS could start Saturday and both SUPERS are on opposite bracket in CWS.

and yes 1,8,4,5 will start the same day IN OMAHA, 2,7,3,6 will start the same day IN OMAHA

it used to be that way but im not sure it is anymore. fitt has already been asked that question and he said they wait to see when the supers end before scheduling which seeds play day 1 vs day 2.
