With the portal, every year is a rebuilding year for all teams. The difference is that you can be competitive while rebuilding.

Against who? Texas?

Every other team is beatable with a competent offense and a defense that just holds their own.

If I had to guess with our current roster and schedule Vegas will have us at 3 or 4 losses. I think 3 losses would be a win next year. Now what we don't know is when our QB1 will be healthy and that could play considerably in the first part of the season. We are somewhat front loaded.
This was a huge rebuild. I will be grading harder in 27' and 28' when Lane has his feet under him along with more of his own players.

10-2 and making the playoffs with that schedule would be a great first year

Dude, this portal haul is a joke. LSU won’t have as much talent as last year but thankfully we’ll be better coached

This is incredibly optimistic for a schedule that includes:

Clemson
@Ole Miss
Texas A&M
@Auburn
Alabama
Texas
@Tennessee

With all this demonic NIL $$$$/Transfer Portal BS, (Just like PIM) EVERYBODY is in rebuild mode every year!

LSU will be no worse off than any other SEC collection of $$$$ whores; I mean SEC team.

This isn't sustainable long term.

The NFL has got to start a Semi-Pro Football League for all those want to play football and be paid coming out of high school.

Pick one or the other and that's your final decision with no flipping back and forth

Semi-Pro with a contract and a salary or College Football with an Athletic Scholarship (NO NIL) and Degree.

NFL Draft continues, but you have to play 4 YEARS in EITHER to be eligible for the Draft!

1. A "starting" qb that cannot practice full-on until probably August? Better get the back-up qb ready.

2. IF we can get a healthy Leavitt and IF we can get a quality O line and IF the O Line can gel...too many IF's to be a CFP team in 2026.

3. Lane Kiffin will get us there but probably NOT in 2026. I do want to see fundamental improvement.

Still only 2 viable starters on the OL. (Moore and Strey)

Maybe Solomon Thomas; don't know what he's got yet. I'm surprised he didn't transfer out since Alex Atkins wasn't retained (And rightly so)

Are either of the two Bordelon's ever gonna make the jump to starting? Maybe under Wolford/Cregg coaching.

Even the "Hot Garbage" leftovers should automatically improve with better coaching. Will they improve enough to be serviceable in the SEC?

Is a JUCO and an HBCU OL going to serviceable in the SEC?

Rebuilding is a very different thing in this era of college sports. People need to ditch the notion it takes multiple years of stacking HS signing classes to "rebuild". It can be done literally in one offseason. That goes for football and basketball.

Look no further than Kiffin's old school. Ole Miss lost their starting QB, leading rushers, all but two of their leading WRs, and many of their top defensive players from the 2024 season. In 2025 they were a game away from the NC game.

The expectations for next season are a CFP appearance, at minimum. That's the tradeoff for the ability sign experienced, good players in the transfer portal. This aint 1995 or even 2018. The days of the 3-4 year "ramp up" period or over. Build the roster and win...now

The oldest borderline boy is used mainly as a blocking Tight end, and he does not do very well in that position. I hope we can get more production from his younger brother.

Strey has great size but I’m not sure how much experience he has. It would be great to get the Harper kid from Ole Miss. I’ve actually watched him play in high school and he’s definitely a dog.
