We took a step back here at the end of the season but still ended up finishing way better than anyone predicted.

Think about that and put it into context. EVEN WITH THE CRAPPY ENDING….we overachieved on the season.

In personally think the lack of depth and the mental/physical fatigue of playing beyond expectations is what finally caught up to us around the Arkansas game. Yes losing to A&M was very disheartening but honestly not too upset about the Georgia game. They are the defending Nat Champs and were stacked 3 deep with 4 and 5 stars at every position. Yet we still moved the ball at will on them the whole game. You can argue that flukey plays fave them 14 easy points. Take those away and it was actually a pretty close game.

We are the SEC WEST CHAMPS, neat Bama, and are playing in a semi decent bowl game for a chance at a 10 win season. Last year we started a crap bowl game with a WR at QB.

Not upset about UGA at all but the performance against Aggy was pathetic

Our lack of depth hurt us more than anything else.

I think the depth definitely caught up with the defense toward the end.

The offense was serviceable but throwing the ball downfield more would’ve helped our offense move the ball and open up running lanes.

It is what it is. Hopefully all 3 qbs can fairly compete for the starting spot next year.

Rather than regress I believe the team was just wore out.

Especially on the lines, those guys played their arse off all year and just ran out of gas because they had no depth to help them out.

I’m not so sure we regressed. Maybe there was finally enough film for opposing offenses and defenses to figure out how to stop Daniels and Perkins. …and Georgia, well they’re just a few years ahead of us in building a championship program.

We didn’t regress instead teams figured out how to defend against JD’s tendencies.

Is that why A&M put up more points against us than any other team all year?

Or that we scored just as many points against them as all the other teams that beat them did respectively?

I don’t think we regressed so much as we ran out of gas.

But “fans” like yourself are tripping to find reasons to discredit the job Kelly has done.

The ARKY and Aggie games were inexcusable.

We got tired at the end of the season due to lack of depth.

We didn’t regress. We fell prey to late season injuries, the flu, etc. all when we never had the depth to roll through that. We played overall good teams with 3 of the last 4 on the road.

I don’t know if the Tigers regressed or as the season progressed the other teams on the schedule had enough game film to develop a defensive plan to stop JD.

A decent bowl game?? Maybe, but a crappy opponent. We totally shite the bed as we wrapped up the season. Embarrassing.

You are either an idiot or have no reading comprehension skills.

What in anything that I wrote makes you think I am trying to discredit Kelly. I think he has done a magnificent job and should be in contention for coach of the year.

I said the team played above anyones expectations all year. Do you think I mean they did that in their own. Of course not. It took one hell of a coaching job to take what he was given and gel them into a highly competitive team for most of the year. And the regression I referred to, I attributed to them basically running out of gas due to lack of depth which was obviously not due to poor coaching.

Please show me in my OP anywhere I was trying to discredit Kelly. I think he deserves coach if the year and has done a magnificent job.

I'm giving a pass on the R-kansas game. It was on the road in shitty weather against a team that considers the game their superbowl.

Dude, these young men are in the physical prime of their lives. They’re not tired. Give them a couple days of rest and they’re good to go. They’re probably in better physical condition now than they were at the beginning of the season.

Now if we’re talking nagging injuries and lack of depth, yeah, I can see that. But not tired.

Yep, this is what I think as well. The time off until the Bowl is a gift now. I expect a good showing vs Purdue.
