Nope. I said he finishes the game and gives up less than what Micah and Hellmers gave up.
So you stretch Cooper for 6 innings and just hope the bats score, what, 8 runs after a rain delay?
When they don’t, like last night, and Cooper is out there throwing BP by inning 7 you aren’t going to melt saying the coaches conceded the game by leaving Cooper in when he was clearly done? Losing 10-5 while leaving Cooper in to get shelled instead of 13-5 and saving the entire front end of the pen is somehow better?
Like I said, you people are fricking delusional.

I think the right hedge was starting someone like Cooper that could give you a chance to stretch and stabilize what was a close game.
You have 3 lefties in the pen so it’s not like Cooper is paramount to save imo. That game was close and still plenty winnable last night when it resumed. SC was in the same predicament with pitching to cover a double header the next day.
I will never concede just giving the game away right there, especially with the best lineup in the country. It was a weak move.
Are you referring to the same Cooper who went 5.2 innings on Saturday against UT throwing 88 pitches and you want to bring him in to eat innings on short rest. That sounds like a solid idea, champ.

Jay might have hoped to win but throwing Dutton and Bucknam back to back is not trying to win.

Yeah, because Bucknam has the same track record as Cooper for stabilizing games out of the bullpen

Apparently it’s not a double header today. It’s a game at 11:00 CST and then a 3rd tomorrow if it’s available to play.
Who said this? LSU Baseball tweeted out that we are playing games 2 &3 today.

No, you didn’t. RB10 likes to put words in your mouth to make his argument. Happened with me multiple times last night.

The dude you’re replying to thinks Cooper should have gone all 6 innings after the delay, on short rest, and that result would have been better than last night’s.
You wanted the coach to go all in on game one like it’s some sort of championship game.
It’s not my fault you people keep saying dumb shite.

You keep saying “go all in” like that’s supposed to mean something. Bringing in a competent pitcher when down only 2 runs isn’t acting like it’s a championship game, it’s simply playing to win.

Trying to steal innings with Dutton (which worked) and the Bucknam is also trying to win scooter. It’s just a gamble that didn’t pay off.

Sounds like Dutton should’ve kept pitching then.

Alright man. Maybe he should throw Travinski in the lineup today and see if the gamble pays off. After all, it’s a small ballpark and he has power.
Where did you see that today isn’t a double header?

If it’s a small park you don’t really need extra power. See, you’re saying dumb shite again.

Apparently USCe’s fans are seeing the game moved to tomorrow on their schedule. Both coaches have said they will play Saturday and the rain is coming around 3:00 today. It’s supposed to be 60 degrees and pouring by 4:00.
Game 2 at 11:00 and a mandatory hour between last pitch of game 2 and first pitch of game 3 means it probably won’t even get started this afternoon.
If the weather holds they will play tomorrow, if not this will be a 2 game set.

Of course nega numb nuts has something to say when we lose a game.

Has this pussy ever posted a positive word about LSU sports? The melt this time last year about CBK’s recruiting was next level…that seemed to work out alright despite what that bloody vag had to say.

I mean it turns deep fly balls into home runs and Travinski is more likely to hit a deep fly ball than Neal.

Can you show me where South Carolina fans have said this and where the coaches have said they will be playing Saturday? Are you saying that if the rain comes this afternoon they will try to play again tomorrow or that they are scheduled to play one today and one tomorrow? Because as of now we are scheduled to play a double header today unless you can show me something reputable that says otherwise.

It's on the SECR. Go find it man, Jesus.

It still says a DH today on our site, but they're saying it's show Friday/Saturday on theirs so who knows.

I don't care to show you something reputable. Go find it yourself if you're that worried about it.

That makes no sense. Theyll try to play an hour after game 1 today if weather allows (it wont)

That’s literally what I was asking. All you had to say was “I saw it on the SEC Rant”. There’s two guys that said it got moved and a lot of “apparently”. That’s why I was asking because everything I have seen has shown us playing a double header today. You and those two guys are the o my ones I have seen that mention not being scheduled for a double header today. Don’t get so offended by me asking questions.
Posted on 4/7/23 at 10:52 am to RB10

You do realize there’s a double header today, correct?
Let’s say’s he takes this approach. Anyone who throws 26 pitches is out for today. So, you’re either burning arms for the rest of the series or literally throwing every arm in the pen to have guys available by today. With the latter, you have either Dutton or Bucknam to close it out so you most likely lose the game in late innings. With the former, you burn Cooper, Edwards and either Hurd or Little to get through the 6 innings and then Dutton or Bucknam are pitching high leverage situations today, so you’re losing today.
Now, as someone else has pointed out, the entire front end of the bullpen is available to give you as many innings as you need from them today.
ETA: Apparently it’s not a double header today. It’s a game at 11:00 CST and then a 3rd tomorrow if it’s available to play. Seems like the coaches decided to keep the front end of the pen available today to have all hands on deck for this game since Saturday looks like a wash out there.
None of anything you just said has anything to do with what I said. You just painted a picture that is completely different from the approach I suggested. I said bring in a guy, and play it inning by inning. LSU, as you may have noticed, scored more than 3 runs last night, so if someone had come in and held it down, we had a chance to win. But if that guy comes in and gives up a run or two, you take him out, and you go ahead and put in the lesser used arms. That "burns" no more than one pitcher. The object of the game is to win, is it not? So why would you throw in the towel down by just 2, and only in the 4th inning? To save everyone for a game 2 that might see us getting blown out before we even go to the pen? For a game 3 that looks very unlikely we'll be able to get in?
That's a bad approach. The forecast has been showing all week, and still currently, that by mid afternoon today, lasting all the way through the entire day tomorrow, it's going to rain constantly, and it's not saying light rain, either. If we have to use that many arms to get through a couple of games, that means multiple guys are having bad games, in which case, what good did it do to save them? But if we assume that our guys do their jobs well, we don't need to punt in the 4th inning of game 1. If we assume they're going to struggle, then we're game planning around an expectation of losing. And that makes no sense to me. Just my opinion.
