Only Alexander, Fehoko, Lawrence, Logan and Farrell have played outside the SLU game.

We don’t even have a full 2 deep.

This is an issue.

Actually worse than last year, once Herron was back, we played 6 guys

So much for DL depth. Explains the non-existent pass rush. Without a pass rush this team has little chance to beat any good team.

That's why it's crucial that LSU addresses 3-4 DEs and edge rushers in this year's recruiting class. Even more so than DBs (5 committed). Doesn't matter how good your DBs are if you can't pressure the QB.

Both Pickering and Sopsher are a must IMO.

This is a sign of a future problem especially if any junior declares.

At full strength we had 7 playing last year.

Lawrence, lacoutore, Gilmore, Farrell, Alexander, Logan and Herron

Agreed. It seems to be depth and development. Logan and Farrell have a full year under their belts yet neither is much of a factor when on the field.

Thank god we have a dline guru as head coach whose sole job is to coach dline and crush Red Bull’s. Definitely worth 3.5 million.

Careful complaining about 'development'. It's a touchy subject around here...

You play 5 d-linemen in 90 degree weather and they'll create no push and end up cramping up, just like we saw Saturday.

What about Justin Thomas? Anyone think he'll ever contribute?

Exactly. How do you expect a 320 lbs DE to be an effective pass rusher when he plays 80% of the game?

4 and a half. alexander can't give you much on those knees. he can't play 1 quarter per game.

Realistically we play mostly 3

Farrell and Ale Andre both play relatively sparingly.

Exactly, this is why fans should support these players and quit all the complaining. If you never played football and never played along the line of scrimmage you will never understand how physical it is each and every down. Compare how many of our offensive lineman have gotten hurt and missed a game this year compared to our starting defensive lineman. These guys still line up with injuries and continue to give their all. Offensive and defensive lineman need to be a priority in every draft class.
