It was a sneaky good hire that none of the national media seem to be respecting. It's baffling tbh.

They respect it, they just weren't expecting it. They never dreamed a coach would leave the proud ND for LSU. They probably all would love for him to fail for leaving ND, but deep down, I think they know that's not likely and that LSU pulled off a really good hire. I mean, we had Les Miles and Ed O back to back. This guy has won everywhere he has been. Of course it's a good hire.

Honestly watching the clemson loss episode was cool. The coaches put them in the right place to win but the players kept coughing up the football. 3 second half fumbles and still lost on a two point conversion. Then afterwards Kelly tears into the players and coaches about letting an opportunity slip and there are no consolation prizes. I dig it.

He has toned down some there. He used to have bigger fits than Saban on the sidelines.

The only reason people think Saban is any worse than other coaches when it comes to their temper is because he's usually doing it when Bama is beating the shite out of teams, which makes it look worse.

He's no worse than 95% of coaches. TBH, that fire is one of the reason's Bama hasn't gotten complacent over the years. He "calmed down" after 2009 and an absolutely stacked Bama roster, that should have rolled to an easy back to back title, lost 3 games. He hasn't let off the gas since.

If Kelly still has that level of fire, he'll win a title at LSU.

The only real shock to me as far as BK is concerned is how quickly the recruiting came together (as far as managing to stay in the top 10). That is a pleasant surprise as I kind of expected recruiting to take a dip year one with an all new staff like this. Great work so far with this new staff. Its nice to have someone in the head chair with a vision and the ability to implement it.

I don’t think you can say we hit the jackpot with a football coach until he actually coaches a game here…

Given equal access to talent, he can coach a team with anyone including Saban
He knew that
LSU saw that
Woody closed the deal
We all prosper

He gets a lot of crap for Notre Dame never making it all the way, but his resume is really impressive. He was a key piece in Grand Valley State going from a mid-tier D2 program to a legendary juggernaut (which he maintained that success as head coach for 12 years), he brought Central Michigan their first MAC title in 12 years after a short stint there, he brought Cincinnati their first ever Big East title and brought them an undefeated season, and he brought back a terrible Notre Dame conference from irrelevance to multiple attempts at a National Title.

People are on some serious copium if they think he can't do some damage with the amount of resources LSU has available to him. He will win us at least one more title before he retires. I can say that confidently by listening to his process and looking at his past results.

All we have to do is find a sacrifice for CBK like Notre Dame did with Declan Sullivan
