Pernod….

Kelly is not playing Curne as an offensive guard.
Haven’t you read this thread ???
Kelly is playing Curne as a tackle.

There is an entire second thread asking why the hell Kelly is playing Curne at Tackle when there is such a need at Guard and he would be the answer at that position !

Read my friend …. and learn.

He is not even in the Guard conversation.

You call posters’ derogatory names …but you don’t even know the position of the players on the team.

So, you're allowed to move Curne to a different position, but when someone moves anyone else, there's an issue?

The only black cloud is your
Pillow Biting Boyfriend !

In this thread we are discussing the offensive line.

Please feel free to leave this thread if you won’t address the topic at hand.

You obviously have not read this entire thread.

Please go back and read it again.

Kelly has named 4 players competing for Guard time… Curne and Bordelon are NOT among those 4 players.

proof he would be the answer?

this isnt a video game. you cant just plug and play people across the line. OT and OG take different skills and not every player is really capable of playing both positions at a high level.

I actually did. You think Curne, who is currently practicing at offensive tackle (albeit is probably more than capable of playing guard) should be moved to guard because LSU's 4 current options aren't good according to reports. I'm actually not even disagreeing with you. I'm a big fan of Curne from everything I've read and watched. False starts aside, I think he's a future All-American.

Then someone brings up Bordelon, calling you a moron in the process, and you're argument is that Bordelon is a tackle. Well according to the depth chart, so is Curne (despite mine or your opinion). So again, while I don't think you're a moron for suggesting Curne to guard, even though Kelly has him at tackle, why can't someone make the same argument for Bordelon?

Curne has been noted by coaches… as the biggest, fastest and strongest offensive lineman LSU has at this point.

How much so ?
Athletic enough for a 335 pound man to be considered at OT…. Left Tackle at that !

If you have an extreme need at Guard…he can be placed there…..the opponent is closer to him and he’s playing “in a phone booth” where his strength and ability to
Push the pile is desperately needed.

I have no problem moving Bordelon to Guard if his skill set is better than the 4 players they are currently trying.

Hell….

Curnes At Left Guard and Bordelon at Right Guard might be incredible…
I say do it !!

But right now… both are back up tackles :(

We have 2 quality starting OT, a good OC

Based on what exactly……….

Curne noted at OT……

We still have the void at OG.

My conversation with LSUfan generated a nice idea…. Curnes at LG and Bordelon at RG…. would be interesting.

But then you would need backup players for Both LT and RT.

It’s a Shell Game….
Robbing Peter to Pay Paul.

I hope the OG play against Clemson is very good… but if it’s not…
It would be interesting to see if they start moving players and who the New Guard(s) would be.

We are 2 weeks away !!

Redfish..

This was written about 6 or 7 posts above your post. In short, it pays to read the ENTIRE thread !!

“ Those of us who follow recruiting read coaches posts and media posts who actually see practice.

Based on those First Hand Obervations …we make remarks.

I have read posts and comments by the aforementioned individuals that both the OT are performing well in practice against LSU vaunted defensive line. . The OC has a extensive starting experience (several years) at another conference and Kelly himself commented the center position will be good.

Conversely… the guards have been garbage as they constantly allow interior pressure and LSU cannot run the ball in the interior….. particularly near the goal line.

For example, one report noted 7 straight runs to the interior netting zero yards.
Zero yards !!!!

My comments are based on First Hand Observation Reports. “

How do you know the starting OT's are "Quality." They haven't played hardly any snaps in an actual game for LSU. How do you know the Center is "Good." Moore hasn't taken ANY snaps at all for LSU in an actual game. How do you know the OG's are an "Issue." Chester is indeed Hot Garbage, but Thompson hasn't taken a snap yet for the Tigers and all the backup's at Guard have very little actual game experience............ .

How did the piecemeal OL for the Bowl Game that you and many others talked endless shite about before the game perform? That rotation included Echols and Bordelon, who I’m sure you include when talking about backups with little experience. They played much better than anyone expected. Mubenga took his lumps during the season, but was actually ok in that game, as well.

You continue to prove that you don’t know shite about anything related to OL.

There is a reason people have brought up Bordelon as a potential Guard option. He was a starting Guard in the Bowl Game. Admittedly, we were short-handed and had to make do and fill holes, but he played much better than most expected in that game for having very few live game snaps as an OL before that.

That said, he’s spent his career as a backup Tackle and occasional blocking TE. The Bowl Game was likely more due to need than Guard being his ideal position. But unlike a true freshman with no previous track record here, Bordelon has played the position in a game with LSU. THAT is why his name came up.

Context matters.
