Based upon his use of his attorney and family to make statements not in the interest of the program, that fear isn't exactly unreasonable. This last year is also very important to JJ personally, it isn't unreasonable for him to act in his own best interest over the team for a continuation of his football life.
I trust Miles to make the best decisions since he has the most information and most reliable relationship to the team. Les knows how important this season is to his legacy and isn't going to screw it up for some "love" of a player.
I can't see with all that JL has gone through there isn't also some "love" there. If Lee gets hurt we may be happy to have JJ back. There may be some ways JJ can contribute and if he becomes a problem, Les can handle it.

In Jefferson's final game of last season he went 10-19 for 158 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT. Why would you NOT want this guy back? Whether he's the starter or not is another thing. But, as it's been mentioned ad nauseum, if Kragthorpe has helped Lee (who hasn't lit it on fire during his time at LSU as well) improve HIS game, why is it so far fetched to believe that he hadn't helped Jefferson's as well? Jefferson was the starter coming into the season. So, obviously the coaches see something that many on this board do not.

So because he was 10-19 in a bowl game, you wouldn't want him back? So, the 3 TDs with 1 INT are just fluff?

Anybody who think LSU didn't get better with the return of an experienced qb should be ignored when talking football. JJ in 09 had a better qb rating than Flynn in 07

If you don't think his "boys" have got his back then you are kidding yourself. It will be the cause of division among the team members and severely reduces Lee's ability to be the team leader.
Are you saying they'll revolt against Lee?
Try to make him look bad to get JJ back at starter QB?

Since everyone knows I'm completely unbiased and factual in my posts. I'll say this. I've never been a fan of JJ, but he did have some aweful play calling that put him in good positions to actually not succeed. When he was having a bad game, he was forced to continue on when another fully capable qb may have been a good change of pace and would have allowed him to collect himself and go back in later in the game. He even would be playing half way good and would be yanked to give JL snaps and would come back in out of rhythm. Bottomline, JJ got a raw deal as far as coaching and play calling. He crapped the bed and was made to lay in, and roll from side to side in it.

Yes. Options are good, how they are used is more important.

Hard to swallow for some, but
cfbstats
MF '07= 125.77
JJ '09= 137.18
JJ also had more passes of 25+ yds in a season than MF and JL.

I think your right just in case something happens to jl we have jj for backup

im sure theres no reason you chose 09. 10 was just as good, right? he didnt go backwards did he?
JJ '10 = 114.7
oh I guess he did. plus 7 TDs to 10 INTs. Flynn had 21 TDs and 11 INTs

You really must have a poor opinion of a good portion of the team. That's kind of sad. How can you cheer for them?

Have you ever watched his pouting routine on the sideline when Lee is in the game? I hope I am wrong but I don't see this turning out well.

I guess that because JJ had a good game in the Cotton Bowl he can be called the Best at the Cotton Bowl. But just because you suck one cock that does that mean for the rest of your life you should be called a cocksucker? Just saying.

Yes. Instead of watching the game and learning from his mistakes. He'd rather go scowl at the gatoraid cooler...

Do these ratings factor in the 37 times he ate the ball?
