OOC, you don't. It is what it is. Someone made a comment about how stupid that AZ statement was and I pointed out that Miles made a very similar comment althogh not directed at a specific team. It is what it is.

Not even remotely similar.

Can't wait to buy a ticket to go watch my Tigers trounce the #1, #5, and #11 preseason ranked teams in the nation.

nice job. you went through our old schedules and found the worst teams we played and just left out the good teams we played.

Wrong. See post on page 4. Fact is, your OOC is ridden with awful teams, many of which are subdivision teams.

Why go and schedule OOC oponents ranked in the top 50 when your conference makes upnearly half the top 10 every year?

Never said that, never implied that. My point, again, is pointing out LSU's awful practice of OOC scheduling TO THOSE WHO DO NOT BELIEVE THE OOC SCHEDULE IS TYPICALLY AWFUL.

Tangerine, I don't think you're OOC argument is way off base, but you have to realize it is a very narrow view of a much larger argument. On the whole, and especially in the last 5-6 years, LSU has played a tougher overall schedule and has a better BCS win-loss record than essentially any other school.

Surely you recognize that in the face of this fact, your argument is like trying to find warts on Miss USA's arse!?!

Or is your primary goal just to flame?

I am aware of LSU's overall schedule quality, indeed. But I a not trying to find a wart on Miss A's arse out of the blue. So there is no flaming.

But when someone specifically points out that there is no wart on the arse or points out a wart on another Miss A's arse, only then do I show them there is one indeed on the one wearing the purple bikini.

If the past 5-6 years still provide fodder for your argument, then I hope like hell this situation continues for a few more years....!!!

LSU should use USC's OOC scheduling philosophy, right? Oops, maybe not. Our first opponent, the lowly FCS division App. St., was ranked higher in the final 2007 season AP poll than all of USC's 2007 OOC opponents (Idaho, Nebraska and Notre Dame). Just because USC schedules some "name" OOC games doesn't necessarily mean shite.

For a USC fan, it must suck that their biggest game of the year this year (and most others) is actually an OOC game. And on top of that, that said opponent was whipped by the SEC in the 2 previous seasons.

While the USC season is anti-climatic after the Ohio State game, LSU will just start playing a stretch of top ranked in-conference opponents, then to top it all off, if we make it, another possible top 5 or 10 team in the SEC championship game. There's your ultimate reward for being successful in the best conference in America. Another top 10 team that is not on anyone's schedule at the beginning of the season.

Yet, even with a weak OOC opponents; we still play more top 25 teams than USC

As we would watching the likes of Idaho, San Jose St., San Diego St., Houston, UNLV and La Tech.

Idaho - last played in 2007
San Jose St. - 2001
San Diego St. - 1999
Houston - 1996
UNLV - 1997
La Tech - 1999

During that time frame USC has scheduled the following teams - most home-and-away: Florida St., Penn St., Purdue, Nebraska, Arkansas, Virginia Tech, BYU, Auburn, Colorado, Kansas St. and Illinois with Ohio St. and Virginia on deck. And, Notre Dame every year. For those wanting to downplay the current status of Nebraska and Notre Dame I will say two things: Nebraska was a top-10 team coming off of three NC during the 90's when those games were scheduled and ND has perenially been a top-10 team since USC began playing them in 1925. Not to mention that both of these programs have a more storied football history than LSU. When we played K-St., they were a top-10 team and Colorado was top-20. Florida St. was top-5 and #1 one of the years USC played them. I guess the closest thing LSU has to a regular OOC rival would be Tulane. Now, that must really get you all excited every year!

Vegas,

Don't you realize that schedules are made way in advance...it's not LSU's fault that Tulane and North Texas suck now, they used to be really good during the Eisenhower administration.

Also, LSU tried to get another game against Oregon State but Miles backed out after learning Alexis Serna was no longer on the team.

For all the ballyhoo about USC's OOC games - tell me again how good that Idaho, Notre Dame and Nebraska proved to be last year?

Every blue moon, USC's OOC schedule turns out not to be good. Just as every blue moon, LSU's OOC schedule turns out to be good.
