Harris connects on a few of those throws...and maybe the game is different.

That is all it really takes.

Not taking Fournette out of the game when he rushes for 9 yards on a play could change the outcome of the drive as well.

So, most teams that need the pass to set up the run due to inadequate line play, or a young QB, will coordinate a system that uses the short passing game, screens and hitches, to give the QB a chance to find a rhythm.

Yeah, like tossing to a RB in the flat.

Do you know how easy that is to return for 6 when the QB is telegraphing it? ...especially against Auburn's experienced defense.

Maybe, just maybe, the coaches see things in practice that we don't, and don't make their QBs make the same stupid mistakes in the game that they make in practice.

Yeah, maybe we can pick up a QB off waivers.

Once you break camp and start the season, that's your hand. You can't just change your entire philosophy mid season.

Meh, I've been as angry and vexed by the performances as most people, but I think the statement is pretty true, if Harris can settle down, stay in the pocket more and make those throws, we're looking at a much different offensive result. Harris will do so, just a matter of how long it takes to happen.

No, it's not. He can't say "we're not where we need to be on offense" because he would be indicting one of his closest friends.

Face it... he should not have hired somebody with whom he has a vested emotional interest.

How can ANY resonably intelligent individual continue to support him?

Oh yea: He's won games and stuff.

You're right you can't change it, Miles philosophy is terrible and doesn't take into account 8 in the box. The man literally has no clue on how to move the ball against an 8 man front. We have no quick, easy passes to take advantage of an 8 man front. 90% of our runs are directly up the middle. Seems every other college football team can complete quick, easy passes except us and it's been a problem under several different OCs. You can't say it's simply because of QB play when we've seen the same problems in previous years.

I have been a defender of Mile's through every loss. No more. Really don't see things getting better on here. No adjustments to our players strengths. No adjustments on D. He is literally marching the team out every week witht he same exact gameplan. Two actual games in a row, we were made to be a laughing stock. Maybe everyone else will start to see by season's end.

My feelings exactly.

Give Les Miles a 10-year extension.

I give up.... I will support the players but not the coaches. This staff deserves more then a earful. If we lose to Florida on Saturday and lose the rest this season, I really don't see many bright spots for next year, experience wont do much for us, everyone has depth and will out coach as usual, can't rely on talent anymore

I guess I read it as "close to being good enough" vs "close to being great [where we need to be]".

As I said, when Harris starts clicking, it will make a huge difference. Can't say the O would be great, but at least good enough to compete.

I predicted a 2 score loss and never flinched outside of the botched clock management.

I am a realist and I study the game. I foretold Harris' eventual back to Earth outing.

None of that excuses a staff from what we have seen repeatedly lacking in preparation.

I don't want to see 1st down passes in the flat to my paraplegic FB, that even if complete, goes for 1 yard. We failed to keep either of our SEC opponents honest. We have the size and speed at wideout, and the arm strength of Harris to keep them out of our backfield, but we stubbornly line up with FBs and TEs.

I would beg them to come at me with Harris' speed and elusiveness. All of our success on the ground vs Wisconsin was with a 1 set back in shotgun.

The coaches see that Porter and Welter were our best candidates to offer with Kentucky being the only other SEC offer out of high school, and now have seen the majority of snaps at two key positions that are failing to perform at this level.

At some point, there has to be accountability.

it isn't but if you don't think they have some blame for it you can't be helped...3 and outs don't rest defenses

Team gave up nearly 300 yards in the first quarter. This had nothing to do with fatigue.

"We are so close to where we need to be on offense"

Is he talking about his own standards or a Tiger fan's standards? Obviously these two standards are far apart.

No, Les is pretty grounded. He's just saying things to get through a rough stretch. I've noticed that even when he says stuff that makes you scratch your head the net effect is to draw fire away from his players and his coordinators. This is why his players and his coordinators love him and are so loyal to him. Les is a very thick-skinned and self-deprecating guy. Those traits serve him well. Those are some of the reasons why I think Les will still be coaching after Saban retires.

Dude, if anything he blamed the players for everything that went wrong on Saturday with his responses. Not once did he talk about how the coaches needed to improve.

We are a young team with young players at key positions. NFL has finally caught up with us. Losing even those average players (those who were drafted in the 4th to 5th rounds to free agency) If you can't accept that fact, then you live in a la-la world.

There is some truth to this no doubt, but if you think the offensive gameplan to begin the game was good, you are the one in la-la-world.

I wonder what the dickheads were saying September 26th, 2000.

Are you really comparing Saban's 4th game after taking over a team that had 7 combined wins the previous two seasons to Miles and this team given the state of the program? Some of you guys just crack me up.

Same people that use the ULM loss for Bama to insult Saban. Well guess what, I'd take an embarrassing loss to ULM if it meant 3 championships in 4 years.
