Hope our power hitters wake up or it will be just like last year.

They went 2-2 last year, I think getting to two wins now after losing the opener would be something I'd take at the moment.

You're welcome, hopefully we can knock out Bama tomorrow just like last year. Season's not over yet.

She has control issues,, walks people, but she spins the ball very well. I really had high expectations for her. They dont put her out there much at all, and maybe they have their reasons, but her freshman year, if it were not for Corbello, LSU would never have gotten anywhere.

Not really. Czechner got herself suspended for regionals so Baylee threw most of those games.

They lost in regionals that year giving up 9 and 13 in the losses and they've been to the WCWS the last two years so it's pretty inarguable who should be pitching.

I hate Bama more than anything- I hope the bats come alive tomorrow for the Tigers!

I think Dobson should be called out to a degree at least. Maybe not canned, but the hot seat is pretty justified. This sucks. 3 elite pitchers and no hitting to show for it

Come on Lady Tigers you can do this! Whip their asses. The NCAA is dog shite for creating a rule to keep y'all from wearing your rally props.

On facebook this morning, there was a share from a friend, the post was from "The Real NCAA Talk" group. It was a gif of the Michigan pitcher lifting her right foot. Now, I'm not a softball rule guru, but it said the foot is suppose to be planted the whole time, lifting the pivot foot is an illegal pitch. It said she did this every pitch though I'm sure that would be tough to determine. Any body with any insight?

I tried to comment and share it myself, but it said the post was removed.

post a photo. If she did it it wasn't clearly visible and didn't jump out at me. I've had pitchers before with this problem but these mechanics are usually fixed way before college ball.

Your drive/push foot then turns into the drag foot (correct toe drag is important mechanics wise) and yes it cannot be elevated at any time. It must touch the ground from the rubber all the way to the finish of her stride and her knee to knee finish.

if it was happening and visible during the game, then I'm sure Beth would have been talking to the umps during or between innings about it.

That was the worse umpiring I have seen in a long time. That ump behind the plate had no business being there. Her strike zone was all over the place!

Do you realize how bad our hitting was in 2012 when we went 1-2 in the CWS? we had two all americans on that pitching staff in Mack and Fico. They carried us. Mack gave my girl lessons and even admitted how they had no offensive support.

fast forward to today and Coach Dobson has done wonders improving the offense. We played the national runner up from last year and lost. these teams are the 8 best in the country. Yes, if we had Coach Lotief's hitters and power hitting machine he has at ULL we would be unstoppable. However, I'm sure ULL feels the same way and wishes they had our pitching because then they would be almost unstoppable as well.

I agree, the hitting has to improve during this WCWS or we are going to sadly be 2 and a BBQ. Only two teams have ever lost first game and won the WCWS.
