I am also waiting to find out if we really are adding a transfer. Some poster apparently knows we are adding one so I am curious.
we need like 2 power hitting transfers. getting greedy

that and we need Springfield swing to be adjusted. I expect her to put up 10-15 homeruns next year. Doyle should be anywhere from 6-12 could be even more if a couple details are corrected.
Serrett really should put up 5-10 homeruns easy too
3B and 2B offensive production does need to be much better though. Zero reason anyone should hit under .270, ZERO.
I expect us to really be more a gap hitting team next. A lot of doubles and tipples . There isn't anything wrong with that at all. The homerun power is in the 2018 class and 2019 and 2020. 2017 class isn't a horrible class at all. Actually we were suppose to add Martinez but Beth pulled her scholly because she was a headcase. It really is shame, she was a top 50 player and had a lot of power as well. I expect us to really put up like 20-30 homeruns next year. Unless we transform a lot of players swing.

Well I think we now know that Dawson is transferring. Her biggest fan just told everyone she won't be back.
I don't know what you are better at, bashing players or lying. It's close.
I said for about the 3rd time this year that I think it would be foolish for a couple of our highly regarded Freshman to return. I don't have a crystal ball nor insight to these minds. I make assessments on the information available. I'm selfish, I hope they both stay but I'm also realistic. It's part of the business of big time sports. It'll be interesting to sit back and watch.

You know, every time we all bring up the "local kid" card I have to laugh. You really think a coach gives a shite where a kid is from?
Do they care where the come from, no. Do they have preconceived notions on playability based on region, yes.
If you think for a second a kid from Cali, TX or FL are not perceived to be more advanced than others then you are crazy. Beth said Bailey Hemphill could not hit on the college level and her swing was not good enough to compete. We passed on her and she went to Bama. Do you know how stupid that decision and assessment was from our staff??????
Beth believed Dawson could not play on this level and said so to many before her arrival to LSU. Dawson came and you see the results. Ask Dawson's travel ball coach what Beth told him about her. I have asked him, so I know. You haven't, so you don't.
Coincidence both of the kids are local? Maybe, maybe not.

Correct by 100%. So why did we settle for that all year and allow it to happen? Why make the change next year and not 50 games ago? Herein lies the problem with emotional line ups over productive ones.
Hmmmmmmm

you cannot pencil any Freshman from Louisiana in regardless of how dominate they are on the prior level.
Ha ha ha... Didn't Bailey Landry get a lot of playing time her freshman year and she's from Louisiana? Let me answer that... 117 AB, started 46

Where you get this information from? Seems like we have more leakers of inside information than the Trump administration.
Y'all have some great information and I respect the passion and work you put into the long previews, analyses, and debate, but I tend to believe you lose your credibility when I see you calling our coaches Morons, etc during the commentary on Sundays game.

ummmm whether right or wrong the answer is yes. A college coach i know personally recruits texas first..
however with local talent getting better over that coaches tenure it has caused them to miss some good local talent that has instead went to other schools. This is a div 1 school i am talking about. as a matter of fact two girls i coached are going to a div 1 next year that this "other" school missed out on. Now i have girls i coached playing at Div 3 and JUCO's but i am only talking about 4 year Div 1 talents this school has missed out on. For perception to change more players have to work. Coaches and parents have to get them to work if they are serious about college ball. This coach told me he sees too many players not wanting to work. Not generalizing everybody but that was the overall statement

It seems like Beth gives a player playing time in their freshman year, and if they dont produce they are used less as time goes on.
Look at Savoie's bio.12 appearances as a freshman, eight as a sophomore, and two as a junior.. I think we have seen her once, maybe twice her senior year so far.
Bourg played a good bit her freshman year, 31 games, and though I cannot find the stats for her sophomore year but I know she played less.
If I were being played very sparingly, and knew I was good enough to at least play more, after my freshman year, I'd sit down with the coach and ask what the future is going to look like. I'd probably leave if my sophomore year was going to be like my freshman year when I only played in a few games, especially if I saw that, with some shifting around, they could get me in the game, and I knew I could produce better results than the players in front of me.
When someone tells you a coach doesn't play favorites, he is almost always wrong.
I guess coaching decisions are like marriage, hit and miss.
Look at the California teams, all that talent, and they have to sift through the names and pick who stays and who runs off to the SEC.
Honestly, I am not sure those making recruiting decisions in Baton Rouge were right about Hemphill. She is, at least, a very natural softball player.
We don't lose anywhere near the talent, going out of state, as Texas and California teams...there's just so much out there you are going to miss some.
As for Nicky Dawson, and what Ashlynn has said, I dont think Nicky turned out to be the terror that Ashlynn thinks or thought she was. On base percentage may mean a good bit, but it takes two slapper hits to get a runner from second base to home plate, probably 60 percent of the time.
Look at the better teams, they are not so much small-ball. They may mix some small-ball into the stew, but they are mostly wide open swing away teams. Watching Baylor play Utah the other night, all those bombs, doubles, triples... I hate to say it but we dont see as much of that at LSU.
A slapper at the front and back is fine, but you have to have hitters who move runners two bases on a hit.
I think Nicky would be like Kayla Braud, Fenton, and the others of that style...and I do think she could go .400, but she is not the terror that many made her out to be. Nonetheless, I hope she starts, or at least plays an awful lot next year, because she deserves to.

Oh I didn't mean it in a bad way, I have a few friends that are coaches in Texas. She just had a lot of off the field issues, so that's why I assumed we didn't add her to this past class.
Only two more days!!
Anyone want to start making predictions for opening day?

Beth has been hitting Cali pretty hard for almost all our future classes. We got some pretty special talents committed to us as well
It's just a hot bed of talent up there.

I thought this was a preemptive "bitch about next season's potential coaching decisions while advocating for why one player should play as you simultaneously denigrate another player all before this current season concludes" thread. Is it not? Hahaha.
But I think UF, LSU, UW, and Baylor win day one. LSU avenges the early season UCLA loss, and Baylor rides their confidence from defeating Zona and some regular season success against OU to drop the Sooners into the Loser's Bracket. Thinking UCLA and Oregon might get bounced in two games.

I have a lot of friends who coach in Texas too, including 18handicap, who has probably done more for high school coaches in Texas than anyone else, and he hasn't said a word about any of this. I know he knows about our present and future players, but when I ask, he always says he doesn't know or he prefers leaving to our coaches who get paid to make these decisions.

Did you have something against me? I'm really not an a-hole at all. I'm a huge Beth Torina pumper, all I was doing was just letting everyone know what I heard regarding the Martinez situation. I really didn't mean to cross any line at all.
So if I want to ask the admins about the recruiting sticky should I go to the help board?

Our usual group of softball traveling Tigers will be there. I'm leaving on Wednesday either by 10 or after 3 (want to avoid Fort Worth traffic). Tailgating for LSU will happen...

Beth is about to be on 1045espn with Moscona at 4:35 if anybody is interested.

It would be nice to see OU go 0-2

Send the Sooners home.. i cant stand that team.. all the media hype...Auburn should have beaten them last year. Emily Carosone had the worst game of her career in game three.
