Yeah when we went to what 5 straight final 4's it was more than just women's basketball around here. People were stoked! Van and Nikki has sucked the life out the program and quite frankly I am shocked that Nikki has failed and failed miserably!! She needs to go, period!!

I didn't post that. I only said I've been around Nikki several times over last several months

I am paying attention to how bad it is. Make buyout donations to www.bringbackpokey.com.

We usually talk sports on here so no, no one would be paying attention to that.

Most of the jack-offs who come on the Rant and talk out of their arse about women's basketball obviously are NOT paying attention.
They were down to 6 healthy scholarship players tonight. Jenna Deemer has missed the last 3 games with some sort of illness and Ann Jones sprained her ankle in practice yesterday and was also out.
Yes, they have scored in the 40's a lot lately. Why? Because Nikki has had to intentionally take the air out of the ball on offense because they have no bodies. If she had a few more players, she would LOVE to run, press, trap, and play fast, but she can't. So THAT is why the scores have been so low. She knows that is the only way she can stay in games right now, and they have defended well, but just hit one bad dry spell where they go ice cold.
And no, she isn't going anywhere after this season, even if they end up 1-15 in the league. We have been through this before. You try coaching a team that has lost an SEC player of the year candidate (Ballard), a second-team all SEC player (Moncrief), a freshman who would have likely been all-freshman SEC (Ayana Mitchell), a decent backup post player (Amichia), and now your best 3-point shooter (Deemer) and a starting post player (Jones).
If everyone is healthy for next year, as they should be, added to the two transfers who are waiting to play next year, they can win 20 games. And if not, then Nikki sees the door.
WOW, a breath of factual fresh air among the stench of lunacy and hate filled rants of the Nikki Caldwell lynch mob. Geeze! Some LSU supposed "fans" are really sickening. They come out like diseased cockroaches after a loss and are no where to be found after a win. We get it, you hate that the coach makes $750K per year and even when she was winning and going to the NCAA tournament, you still hated her and wanted her fired.

Yep, we are not good at shooting the ball, and it doesn't appear to be many players who are capable of shooting the 3, so there are not many 3s attempted.

LSU traditionally is a team that hasn't relied on 3-pointers in the first place, but the best 3-point shooter has missed the last 3 games and there just isn't anyone available right now who can make them.

I don't know how anyone can be a fan of wbb. Outside of the top 3...maybe 4 teams no one else has a chance. It really is a terrible sport to watch.

It's actually one team that's dominating right now.

I dont follow the game live but I try to check up the scores after the game.
What I find interesting is the Facebook page for LSU Women's basketball. Every game, in fact every quarter, there are comments from these nice ladies encouraging the team and congratulating them on their effort. Now that I feel is what real fandom is all about.
There were a bunch of jerks, probably ranters that would come at the end of the game posts and say stuff like Fire Nikki, team sucks, blah, blah but these ladies would put them down each time.
Kudos to them...

I agree...hanging around here will make one forget what being a fan should be like.

There were going to be 12 scholarship players on this team if things had gone the way they should have....and that group of 12 would have led LSU to the NCAA tournament. Ballard, Moncrief, and Mitchell as a group would have been as good as any group of 3 players in the SEC outside of South Carolina.
But this is the Rant, where the truth NEVER gets in the way of a good shite-fest.
Every season the story is about her lack of players. I went to Spokane with the team to the sweet 16 in 2013 and it was a big deal because they did it with 7 players.
But

That year started with 11 players. They lost 5 seniors from the team the previous year and only signed 3. Before the season, Krystal Forthan, who had been a stud freshman the year before, flaked out and left for West Virginia for like a day, then to Utah, then to become some sort of model, so they were down to 10. CoCo Baker got kicked off the team mid year for being a punk-arse. That left them at 9. Sheila Boykin got Guillame-Barre syndrome late in the season, leaving them with 8. Jeanne Kenney suffered a concussion in the first game of the NCAA's, leaving them with 7 for the Penn State game that they won to get to the Sweet 16. Kenney would come back and play in Spokane, putting them back at 8 players again.
I don't see how you can put all of that on the coach. I would almost credit her for kicking kids off the team who are bad apples instead of keeping them around too long. Yeah, I could see an argument that they shouldn't have recruited kids like Baker in the first place, but how can a coach possibly see that kids like Forthan and Amichia are going to go full retard and just leave school, and that another player would get a rare mysterious condition?
quote:
Every season the story is about her lack of players.
First season (2012) ended season with 11 players
Second season (2013) from above, ended with 8 players
Third season (2014) ended season with 11 players
Fourth season (2015) ended season with 12 players
Fifth season (this year) down to 7-8 players
So yeah, if "every season" means 2 out of 5, then point taken. :roll eyes:
I am not trying to be an outspoken supporter of Nikki. I hope she will succeed next year, and if she doesn't, then it is time to move on from her. But I AM a supporter of bringing facts to arguments instead of just pulling random crap out of the air.

Caldwell is the most over paid coach in the history of LSU and should be fired. She is a terrible coach and has done nothing to earn her salary.
I know dog shite about women's basketball and could do better. And I'd cost way less.

Apologize for her all you want, but the WBB program has regressed to the point of embarrassment. This is her 5th year here, these are all her players and there are no more excuses.
