Kid is the most electric player since Tyrus or Stromile.

Agreed.

He’s the best freshman point guard I have ever watched at LSU.

I was too young for the Chris Jackson days.

Next year :

Waters
Smart
Sampson
Reid
Bigby-Williams

Not to mention a DEEP bench.

He has a little Chris Paul in him.

Waters is way more electric than either Tyrus or Stromile ever dreamed of being.

I wasn’t, and this kid reminds me a lot of CJ. By that I mean he seems to play with the same intensity, heart and instinct. CJ was a better shooter by far, and maybe a little bit better ball handler, but I look forward to watching Waters as he progresses. I believe he’s destined for Tiger basketball greatness!

Chris Jackson will always be the benchmark for me. He was incredible and second only to Maravich in terms of pure skill.

Ronnie Henderson and Marcus Thornton were the best pure scorers to come along after Jackson. Both could fill it up anywhere anytime.

Waters, however, is probably the closest thing to Jackson since Jackson. The game has changed, so I doubt he even comes close to Jackson's Freshman scoring record. But his game reminds of Jackson more than any other LSU player. That is HIGH praise

Dumb comment. Stro and Tyrus were two of the most electric players to ever suit up in purple and gold. Waters is a bad man too. But to say stro and tyrus dreamed of being electric? Have 20 down votes. Both of those guys won sec titles and various individual league awards

Waters steals the ball, handles the ball great, makes awesome passes, drives and scores (as well as any point guard I've seen at LSU) and he can shoot from the parking lot. He is incredible and is just a freshman. He's an extremely confident player too and is super strong for his size.

He’s a remarkable player. BUT - He also makes freshman mistakes and if you watched the end of the game, he had two crucial turnovers that allowed the game to even be a one possession game (Ill advised drive where he left his feet under the basket with no help and turned it over then next possession threw the ball away). I’ll take those mistakes because Wade will show him and hopefully he becomes Chris Jackson like late in the season.

What was electric about Tyrus aside from his dunks?

Waters has the it factor. He needs to work on defense and turnovers, but most of his game is incredibly advanced for a freshman.

Agree with the CJ comparison. May not be quite that dominating a player at this level, but has uncanny basketball IQ, cross over, head and shoulder fakes, step back and other offensive moves and a pure shooter similar to CJ. This feels like "Back to the Future"!

His defense. His offensive game was definitely less than polished though.

He has the quickest hands I've seen. His steals are lightning fast. Aside from his acrobatics around the rim, it's my favorite part of his game. and dat block tho
