Watching on YouTube TV question

So I just moved into a new house and we don’t have internet yet. We have my wife’s hotspot left and my mifi is uploading at 600kbps due to us burning through WiFi.
I have YouTube tv and we normally watch the games recorded once the kids go to bed around 6-6:30. My dilemma is if you can watch the game on YouTubeTv while it is recording.
For example, once the kids go to bed, I’m going to start watching the recording. I’ve had issues with that on other streaming services so I am debating on whether we just watch it with the kids and figure it out later. Too big of a game to miss. It will be a nightmare with my 2 year old and 4 year old but my 5 year old will not move off the couch with me.

Yes, you'll get the option to start the recording from the beginning on YouTube TV.

Explain to me why you don’t just watch it live?
I’m confused.

Do you have kids? My kids under 5 don’t care about football. My wife, 5 year old, and myself do. If you’ve ever been around 2 kids 2-3 hours before bedtime, they don’t typically like to sit down quietly and watch a game. They are usually running around playing and I like to spend time with my kids playing. It also makes it difficult to watch the game and tend to the needs of said children.
We do it all season during day games and it has worked fine on Directv but due to the change, I’m not positive which makes me nervous.

Yes. Record while watching.
But recorded games not always available to re-watch immediately. (could be pilot error)

Understood.
I don’t have the patience for a game like this to wait and watch a recording. This is where I call in the babysitter.

Does that mean at 6:30 I can go into my library and watch from the beginning as long as the game isn’t over.

Yes. When you go to Youtub TV and tune in a program that has already started, and for which you also have recorded from the beginning, you will be given the option of either watching the recording from the beginning, or joining it live where it is now (while still recording it).

I have a 2 year old and a 5 month old.
They know LSU football = Daddy time. Plus my 2 year old chants "LSU and Geaux Tigers" with me.
They also don't get to dictate TV time and don't play with tablets/phones on our house though.
All about how your raise them. You are the adult

Yes, as others have said. But word to this wise, it can be a little glitchy, and I’ve had several occasions where the video advanced to live without me wanting it to.

Try a babysitter, it’s amazing. Someone comes to your house and watches your kids and you just pay by the hour! And then you get to go do whatever you want to do. I know, crazy right?

Just start watching game live man. With time outs and commercials you will have plenty of time for kids and get caught up if you pause it.

We all think you should watch this one live
It’s just the right thing to do
Your kids will still love you

If you are implying my kids control how we watch tv, you must not have read my posts. I didn’t say they watch shows or anything because it has nothing to do with that. It has to do with the fact my kids want to play with me and I want to spend time with them. I would rather spend those 2 extra hours with my daughter before she goes to bed. Then once she is in bed, my boys, wife and I all make game snacks and have a big family tailgate. It is actually part of the reason why I have enjoyed this season so much is because of the family time and traditions I’ve been able to build.
You are right, i am the adult and I set the boundaries with my kids but I also get to teach them understand an entire situation before being a judgmental prick.
Also, for the babysitter option. I would but we literally moved in 6 days ago and know nobody in the area.

Make sure to change your home area in the app. The only time it won’t let me play a recording while it is still live is when I am traveling. If you moved far enough for it to matter.

You should show them what is important to you as well...
In '03 I didn't know if LSU would ever get a crack at it again...

You can fast forward commercials and shorten the time watching a recorded game.

As others have said, it can get glitchy when watching a recorded game while it is still going on. Twice the game went live when I was trying to watch the recorded version. Once I hit “watch from the beginning” and it went live for a saints game. Second time was during the SEC Championship. My son sat on the remote after watching the first quarter which kicked us off the app. When we got back in it kicked us live in the fourth, like 34-7 live. It’s a bummer.
My suggestion, when watching it recorded while the game is still live, is to turn the volume down all the way, cover your eyes and let your wife be the sacrificial lamb to navigate to the recorded version of the game. That way if it goes to the live version her night will be ruined not yours. You’ll probably at that point will have to banish her to another room, because if your wife is like mine, she’ll have a hell of a time hiding the score from her face.
