Why did Bama lose to Auburn?

We beat Auburn

You know they didn't lose a single other game all year right?

I think, if Troy was smart, they would play their experienced Starters over inexperienced (although high ranked) true freshmen....

You make little sense....

I’m glad you don’t get to make decisions about this team if you’d pick a inexperienced true freshmen over a seasoned veteran.....

So the Syracuse win is a little better than you might think.

They were 4-8 overall, and 2-6 in the ACC. It was an ugly W, but it wasn’t better than anyone thinks.

Coach O inherited the same limitations that coach Saban had to deal with in his first year....at Bama

This is my first time hearing of any sanctions LSU was on. Link??
quote:

Saban could not overcome his limitations and he lost at home to ULM.....but Bama knew that given enough time and given enough quality recruits, that Saban could pull Bama back into national contention.....

Because he had already done that. Twice, actually.

O went winless in conference play.

quote:

I don’t give a crap about the expectations for that year....what was coach O supposed to say....you know guys, we really don’t have enough talent and depth to compete for an SEC title this year

Yes?

Honesty is always the best policy. However, O lied to Alleva, sold him a bill of goods based on “continuity” and “competing for championships fast” and didn’t tell him that after 2016 it would take a year or two to get the roster back to 2016 levels of both talent and experience.

quote:

You really think that would have been appropriate to say even if it was the (hidden) truth

RobbyTiger would rather O lie about the state of the roster to the AD than tell the truth. Pretty telling.

LSU did not hire Ed Orgeron to rebuild, this wasn't a rebuild program

Adding some more depth to the line doesn't make it a major rebuild

You would think LSU is coming off probation and less than 6 win seasons the way some of you talk

The lie was to the masses.....I’m sure everyone –in the know–knew the true state of our team....

Take a class in public relations and it might sink in

But then again, judging by how this thread is going....

“I think it’s a valid enough comparison, because any first year at a top-level program like those is going to give you weird, unexpected swings,” an SEC offensive assistant coach told SB Nation.

“The difference is, Orgeron has had more time than Smart, with the interim year, and the big thing is that expectations were way out of line. O sold LSU on immediate consistency, not a rebuild. That’s where a lot of the anger is coming from. He’s got really good coaches. He’s going to recruit really well. His biggest mistake is hiding how much work their was. But maybe he thought he wouldn’t get hired for a rebuild.”

You mean the best 3 year stretch of recruiting in LSU’s history? Ok.

Les Miles simultaneously squandered talent and left Orgeron with no talent.

It’s really quite impressive how Miles even managed to put on his pants on in the morning based on how incompetent the suppOrters make him out to be.

I firmly believe and ACCEPT the fact that LSU is in a rebuilding stage.....

It’s not that hard.....you lie to the masses to keep your recruiting class intact.....

It’s called PR.....

Available and experienced linemen

Convenient how you left that part out...

Everyone (with a brain) knew we were playing with little depth and experience....

That’s a fact, not an excuse...don’t conflate the two....

And also don’t conflate an entire roster on paper with an available (ready to go at game time) roster.....it’s easy the see through your bias

What was a lie? LSU has a ridiculous amount of talent, and has been for over a decade. Every analyst could tell you that talent is not the problem at LSU.

My question is how do we go from any idiot can win 10 games with the talent Les Miles had to, Les Mile left the cupboard bare with no talent.

Because LSUsports.net said so?

Herr Pomansky earning his paycheck.

So let me get this straight:

You lie to the fans (which by the way, while O and DP did lie to the fans, I was referring to the lies they told Alleva in November 2016) and tell them that there is no issue with depth on the roster...to keep your recruiting class, the incoming freshmen who will immediately provide depth, intact??

In the words of John Oliver:

“Congratulations, RobbyTiger, you've officially come up with the 'Shittiest Conspiracy Theory Ever.'"

We are now. It may take years to recover from the O era.
