Was this a top 5 LSU defensive performance?

Let's say from 2000 on. I would put this one up there - obviously not considering how the offense squandered it.
Number one has to be 9-6. What says the rant?

This performance was better than 9-6. Bama's offense is much better than it was in 2011. And Bama missed a bunch of field goals in that game. I know they were long but they could've scored more.

Yes, that's why it's pivotal to keep aranda here.

It was a great effort but there is no way it is close to "top five". A shut out beats giving up ten points every day of the week. Having said that, the 3-0 loss at number one Notre Dame in 1970 is definitely one of the Tiger's best defensive efforts.

Yes. 9-6 is up there, 13-3 against Florida in 2009 is also up there. Title game against Oklahoma as well.

Defensive performance no.....
Defensive game plan.........Yes.

No. Not even close.

It was because they wouldn't of scored a touchdown without more than a few missed calls by the refs. On top of that the d got tired

Top 5? No.
Since 2000, LSU has had dominating defensive performances against MUCH better offenses.
Off the top of my head...
ND 2006
Miami 2005
Oklahoma 2003
Florida 2009
not sure why I'm getting downvoted...
So holding an offense led by a true freshman to 10 points is somehow more impressive than holding offenses led by Heisman trophy winners and candidates to 13 or 14 points?

Better than 9-6. Bama missed a shite ton of field goals that game

Yes but don't forget LSU has several NFL ready players on defense and they were in the game all the time. The so called star players were at RB and WR positions and they were sitting on the bench most of the time because QB and OL plays suck. I like Aranda but don't forget he has talent to work with.

It was. And it was dominant. Too bad the offense took the night off.

Great one. I can still see Riley Cooper slingshotting himself by our DB's jersey into the end zone while the ref just stood there

Agree.

That night, yes. Every night... Nope. Emotional playing. Wish they could discipline that to every game.

The 4th and 1 tackle for loss at the goal line with a 0-0 score validates it as a top flight performance. That was a special moment right there!
