This is not 1997. Currently, Spurrier is probably not in the top 20.
The phuck he ain't....and those numbers represent his 18 years to '07.

Give him what PC had and the Trojans have at least one more NC Title. Mudda phucka beat Kentucky 44-16 last year AND Arkansas...IN REGULATION. Oh, did you know he also beat Tennessee and Florida too? Dumb arse.

Well, I'm not sure what specific qualifications one would have to have to be in a current Top 20 coaches rankings list, but it's not like Spurrier is coaching at a place that is a historically strong football power. Hell, they've never even been to Atlanta for the SEC title game. And going up against UGA, UT and UF every year, he or anyone else who coaches there will seldom be a favorite to win the SEC East, much less the SEC title.

It's simply a matter of having or not having the athletes. And not only having a first string of players capable of knocking off his conference powers, but having the depth to do it as well.

Look at Les Miles for example. If he was still at Okie State, he'd more than likely still not have a conference title, much less a BCS title. He just wouldn't have the athletes to do it with.

Well if we are talking top coaches in the country you would have Caroll, Tressell, Stoops and Brown and 6 sec coaches. More of the top ten coaches in the country in the sec than the entire rest of the country put together.

I am not sold on Tressell. He got spanked By Ill at home last year!! And he can't beat the Top Dogs!!! Yes He won a title in 2002, but look at all the close games that they lucked out to win during the season against very weak Comp.

Top 5
Carroll
Meyer
Miles
Saban
Brown

Stoops is not top 5 just like Tressell.

You make this comment, then give your list and ignore Les Miles....

Better than getting spanked at home by a 41 pt underdog, which your #1 coach did.

I already explained in another thread, PJ, why OSU had one of the toughest schedules in the country in 2002.

Well, every National Championship team gets "lucky" (if you don't you won't win it all). And OSU got less lucky than any one or two loss team has to win the National Championship.

Tressell is still not in my top 5!! He has been at OSU long enough to know that IF he wants to compete aginst the big dogs he MUST recruit TEAM SPEED!! He has failed to do that with examples of the last two nc games!!!

Will your opinion change if OSU is successful in winning a NC this year?

Yes cause that would mean he would have beaten a very fast USC team!!! If they lose to USC and still make the Title game than NO!! Cause the Big Ten is SLOW AS HELL!! OSU just so happens to have the BEST of the SLOW!!!
