Was Vern Lundquist right when he said that the excitement was not in Tiger Stadium on Saturday (Ole Miss)?
I was not there, but I never trust what Vern says.

It's all relative. If he is comparing to LSU vs Bama, well of course not. But I bet it was better then most places in the country as it always is.

Atmosphere was very good. It was loud and electric from the start. Especially after the initial pick.

At the beginning of the game, it was kinda dead. When the players came out for warmups it wasn't nearly as loud as it was for Bama. Even when they came out for the game it wasn't as loud. I think when everyone realized that Ole Miss came to play it got pretty hyped though.

once we got to about mid 3rd qtr it got loud on defense and we stood up most of the 4th qtr. The 15 yrd penalty on Peterson that Ole Miss was in bounds we booed the refs for about 5 plays straight. It was solid once it got a little dark...

when LSU was up 23-10 no one was because it was kind of boring and looked like a blowout, but once LSU started get screwed by the refs it got good.

Yes, he said something like that and it did seem the crowd was not as into it at the beginning. As the game went on the crowd was getting more in to the game and they commented on that as well.

I was in the student section. Very loud and intense. You never realize how much of the sound escapes the stadium.

Verne was projecting. Cam Newton wasn't in the stadium, it was Lundquist that wasn't excited not the crowd.

Who cares what PorkChop has to say. It seemed like it was getting very loud in the second half of the game. Did I mention that I hate PorkChop? He hates LSU more than ESPN.

I rewatched the game and heard this comment. He was comparing it to the bama game. LSU will almost always be more excited about bama than OM. It seems that the students especially think that OM is irrelevant.

the helmet to helmet call on LBOH (little ball of hate) sent the fans into a frenzy. From that point on, the fans were completely on board.

Fans were in shock by JJ's killer performance and LSU ability to march up and down the field

did you notice the relative calm that came over the stadium when PP took the ball back to midfield for the last drive? It seemed as if it was a foregone conclusion that we we would score a TD.

I honestly don't think I get that nervous in our games anymore. It really is a valid assumption that the game will go down to the wire regardless of who we play and that we will probably win.

I think we've seen it all from LSU over the past five years and it's hard to get rattled anymore.
