I watch Procell in college at NSU. He was a great high school player, but not very effective as a Juco transfer to NSU.

Now these numbers are the ones that are reported. I know for a fact Anthony Aucoin had close to 3700 career points because i played with him and he is not on that list. So im sure there are many players left off of that list

Could be the case. I posted this list because the national rankings were so surprising.

Yea they are surprising, that is why i kind of figured there are many players left off of that list who would be ranked up there

Procell played against very weak competition in a small school classification. His mediocrity as a player is evidenced by the fact that no decent colleges wanted him.
Robert Parish played in the largest school classification and dominated. Every college in the US offered him a scholarship. The ABA also wanted him to sign right out of HS. When the NCAA put Centenary on probation they offered Parish the opportunity to transfer anywhere without losing a year. Bobby Knight begged him to come to Indiana (yep the team that went undefeated). Parish declined.

I am from right here in Zwolle where those guys Greg Procell and Tootsie Roll Meshell are local legends. Tootsie Roll is a distant cousin of mine and parish cop.

There were a lot of B and C class players on that list, not taking anything away from them but there is a big diff between a class C scorer and a class 5A player/scorer..
Ahhhh Anthony Aucoin if he could have spelt his name he could have improved his score on his ACT from a 4 to play D1. I still havent seen anyone who could play wth him in the BR area since he left. Man Woodlawn had a squad that year, w Lakeo Keller at the pernt... FREE THROWS!!

Tweety Carter scored 7,457 points.

people have to remember that players like livingston and tweety played in the 3pt era where as tootsie roll and greg did not. I do believe there have been better players than greg but pure shooters he has to be the best

Call me a homer but I am going to go with DJ Augustin.

Gotta go with these three:
1) Robert Parish
2) Bob Pettit
3) Joe Dumars

Buzwa, thanks for the link. Having played at BRHS long ago I do have some problems with his choices. Jim Taylor, yep, the Green Bay guy, was a high school all-american and a 3 year all-state player. Our coach was Pete Burge...in 3 years coaching us we won 3 district championships, runner up in state and the state championship in '54. He also produced 3 all state players. And the #1 coach on this list, Altobello, we beat him in the semifinals 2 years in a row. And, he never (like in NEVER) beat a Pete Burge coached team. And Bob Pettit on the 2nd team....ridiculous! Does make for interesting talk though.
