There are exceptions (Bradford, Coleman, maybe Hess) but I agree. And Fontenot seems to be the poster child for this 'rule.'

If LSU wasn't playing a 7 inning game and it was a 9 inning game instead Labas would have gone back out no questions asked.

I trust him more than the entire LSU bullpen anyways so no he wasn't left in too long. He wasn't even at 100 pitches.

shoulda have left him in. In all honesty if we catch that fly ball in right field we prolly win, albeit it was a tough one but still.

In a game that you MUST HAVE there is no reason not to have someone ready to start the 7th. After 1st guy reached you have to go to someone fresh to close it out! Lets call a Spade a Spade. At 4-10 with the upcoming schedule the Season is Over. Best case we can hope for is to be on the road as a #2 seed somewhere.

Paul played for the sweep by bringing in fontenot instead of edwards. A gamble that didnt pay off. If he truly was trying to pitch the best person to win that specific game, he wouldve gone edwards. He got greedy and it cost us

Fair enough. Fontenot shouldn't have pitched in Game 1 on Thursday night.

It was Thursday.

The lead was 4...not 5.

It was the 8th inning. The game was obviously in reach (see today).

And if Labas continued to give up hard hits like that and get behind in the count then people would have said Labas should’ve been pulled sooner.

This is true. I think most people would have pulled Labas in that situation. He didn't only give up 2 singles. He got behind 3-1 and frankly I think he was lucky the batter put a bunt down 3-1.

I don't think it was physical, but Labas lost it in the 7th.

I was excited to see Fontenot come in to finish the game after how he pitched Thursday.

How do you think he pitched Thursday? Because I think he pitched poorly. He was lights out in the eighth, then gave up four base runners in the ninth, plus a run.

Are you nuts? Of course you go to Fontenot then.

It wasn’t a tough one. Crews’ bad angle turned it into a tough one, but had he judged it correctly he would have jogged to it.

Crews will be the first one to tell you he should have caught the ball. He will make it up to the team because he is a great player.

He walked a guy and had a HBP in the 9th. The lead off reached on an error.

This was after striking out the side in the 8th.

Then he got a guy to ground into a double play and recorded another strikeout.

It's retarded to say he pitched poorly on Thursday.

He pitched poorly today.

No.
With the bullpen troubles we have had giving away games all year, you keep Labas in with two on and one out to finish. Al least see if he can get that one more strike out, then put in someone else.

The fact that Fontenot pitched two innings Thursday, means we should have gone to someone else today.

...And now Money has us down two in the first. He looks exactly the same as last Sunday, decent, but too many mistakes that end up in the stands.

When is Pawl going to learn?

I’ve seen Aj Labas pitch himself out of bases loaded and no outs. He works best under pressure. He should have been given the chance. He should have never been pulled, especially for Fontenot. If you insist on pulling him, put in a pitcher like Edwards that has same pitching style. I trusted Aj in that situation way more then Devin.
