I mean
(a) Recruits de-commiting
(b) Players wanting to transfer / leave early
(c) Graduating seniors players expressing displeasure ( DeAngelo Peterson, T-Bob, Will Blackwell etc )
(d) Rumors of team conflict before a MNC game.

Any one is troubling, all four is a problem.

Get out of here with this stupid crap. Yes, the end is near so go find another team to root for. We wouldn't want you to drown when the ship sinks.

Miles will never come that close to an undefeated season again.

I think the Chavis hire saved Miles.
Anyone who can't appreciate this past season doesn't know much about athletics.

With that said, I would like to see Miles earn his salary for the month of January 2012. Recruiting is pretty much done, staff is on to juniors.

Probably not. Although, in my time, I cannot remember a program turning on a dime as much as LSU has from January 8th to January 10th. It is humbling, confusing and admittedly troublesome.

Actually the best approximation would be Texas after they lost to Bama in 2009. Although their recruiting has been solid throughout, their play on the field has been atrocious. Hopefully, Les will be able to maintain once the season starts anew.

I think that the next calender year will be the toughest and most critical of Miles tenure. This season is finished and, for all intents and purposes, this recruiting year is also finished. Les needs to start the new recruiting year like he is recruiting for his job, even though that is not the reality. First priority...keeping the Top 5 Louisiana players in state...that is already an issue as Saban is supposed in very well with several of them.

Landing some top flight recruits this spring and summer would be one fine way to start the fire. We need to avoid all off-field distractions between now and next season as well. Another Jefferson-type fiasco could really do a lot of damage.

So, I don't think it was the beginning of the end for him, but I do think that he has a very tough job ahead of him to get the program back on track (pre-season polls aside - they mean nothing).
